Nicely done. We just purchased a 2023 192 and have several modifications I plan to make. I converted the exterior quick connect to hot water because we plan on doing most all of our dish washing outside to cut down on any food waste going into our grey water tank. Eventually I plan on converting the single port to a exterior shower quick connect so we can have hot and cold. Another thing is to take out the bath sink and faucet and install a large sink. I found a 13x13 on Amazon that I plan to install farm sink style, should fit nicely with around 2” protruding. Today I am adding a removable extension to the right of the kitchen sink by utilizing 2 short pieces of adjustable shelf uprights and brackets to mount shelf extension to. Should make a nice place for the coffee maker

I have watched your very informative video again and so appreciate your sharing. We purchased a new 192 this past July and have enjoyed it so far. I do not like that there is no access to the radio. We also removed the TV as we don’t frequent parks with power. I am so intrigued with the medicine cabinet and the kitchen counter extension. I do hope that your your husband will provide your subscribers with videos and details of how he constructed them. Thank you and happy travel’s.

The side extension or counter space could be put on hinges and the fireplace stored under the sofa. At night sit the trash can out of the way and have a clear path to your side of the bed.
@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! Unfortunately the counter extension can't go on hinges as the outlet on that side sticks out about 2 or 2 1/2" so it wouldn't be able to fold down. The fireplace is nifty because we can put it under the couch, or under the table at night, or when traveling, that shoe spot under the dinette bench just inside the door fits it like it was made for it!

I love the extension you made. Would you consider sharing your plan for the construction of it. I’m curious if the is a lip on the top of the extension sticks up into the existing counter? or does it just slide in. Do you find it strong enough with the size of the 45’s you used for support? Your response would be appreciated. Thx😊
@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! There is no lip, it is just flat and slides in. It is for sure strong enough because if we are camping in the winter, we go dry, and use a 6 gallon jug with a spigot on the counter and extension for our water, so it has held a good bit of weight. Hopefully in an upcoming episode we can get into more details of how it was made. I don't really make plans, just sketches and wing it from there usually :)

@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, pretty much we just keep the bed down. I think we have only had it as the couch twice? We have a 3" foam topper that we bought from Costco that we put on top of the mattress (the bed will still go up with it on), and that makes it reasonably comfortable. We do hope to replace it at some point, but for now it will do. The bed IS a full size queen, 60x80 mattress, so as long as you are fine on a queen size, you should be find on it. Hope that helps!

My wife and I are currently camping in Michigan in our 193 and love watching camping videos and yours came across our feed! We also enjoyed the mods. The ones we are really intrigued by are the outdoor sewer hose cubby, do you have a source for that, and if not do you have any prints drawn up? Lastly, we have been wanting to do a counter extension, what did you use to enable you to slide your board in and out?

Thank for the comment! We have a Ford F150. We actually test drove all the manufacturer's rigs, fully expecting to buy a Dodge (we had previously owned 2 different Dodge pickups that we were quite happy with). We made a list of important features to us, safety ratings, comfort, fuel economy, and so on, and Ford won out by a fairly large margin. Hope that helps!

Lol, I keep telling him he needs to start a business making things like this for RVers. He put Command Strips (or double sided tape. Now I can't remember which, but I think it says in the tour) and then screwed it to the wall. We were lucky in that he actually hit one of the metal studs with the screw, so it is quite stable!

Can the bed be left down without it flopping while going down the road? Do you think if it can stay down that a regular queen mattress would work?
@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 Жыл бұрын
We leave ours down all the time with no issues. We do have the foam topper on it, so it is a bit heavier than without it, I don't know if that makes a difference. If you mean "regular queen" as opposed to a short queen, or camp queen, it is a full size queen mattress. If you mean as opposed to the less than amazing mattress it comes with, I'm sure it would be fine. We hope to upgrade ours at some point. We did check to make sure that ours would still go up with the topper on it in case we wanted to put the bed up, so you might consider how thick of a mattress would fit before buying if that is something you might want to do in the future! Hope that helps!

Great job. What is the hitch tongue weight when you are fully loaded?
@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 Жыл бұрын
Short answer, we don't know. Longer answer, when we got the Rockwood Mini-lite, we spent quite a bit of effort making sure we weighed the truck with and without the trailer, with and without it being loaded and with and without the weight distribution hitch. We had calculated the tongue weight to make sure that we were within the max. And we were. When we got the RPod, it is 1600 pounds lighter, the dry tongue weight is a good bit less (don't remember how much off the top of my head) and since it has basically the same layout, with a smaller front pass through, we knew we would have less tongue weight than we did with the Mini-lite so getting exact numbers is lower on the priority list. Hope that helps!

Can you list where you got the restroom mirror and the stow box you mounted under the trailer? Did you change out the mattress or keep the factory one?
@somedaychronicles3728
@somedaychronicles3728 2 жыл бұрын
To make the mirror for the medicine cabinet, Keith cut down a cheap full length mirror that I had bought at Walmart to the correct dimensions. (It was $5 then, I think they are $7 now, REALLY cheap and flimsy!). The box under the trailer he also made from scrap wood he had from other projects. (He can give more info if you want it). We still currently have the factory mattress, BUT we also have a mattress topper that we bought from Costco several years ago. The factory mattress by itself was pretty uncomfortable, but with the topper on it, it isn't bad. Hope that helps!

The one we bought is a 2021, but it is exactly like the 2022. We know this because the dealership we bought it at, had both on the lot. We didn't realize they were different model years, we just knew one was $2k less in price. We went back and forth comparing things trying to figure out why it was different. When we finally asked what the difference was, they told us it was only the year. Hope that helps!
