As I understand it ? TPP controller can be wired at the same time to 110 or 220 (depending on how it's set up for an AC source) and the solar input. Which power source you us is controlled by switch on back of controller ?

Hey there friend! The controller takes the DC input from the panels and the batteries turns it into AC to run the pump. The controller can be switched to AC only mode where is draws strictly from the AC input and not the DC input from a setting in the controller menu. It is also important to note that the controller will automatically switch to AC backup when it does not have access to DC power and the pump needs to run. Of course all of this is assuming there is ac power to the system.

On the TPP. Will the controller work as a battery Charge Controller and when not using the pump will it switch to charging the batteries ?

Yes! The controller will charge the batteries from the DC. In fact, the Ac power will also charge the batteries!
