Over the last 2 years Ive bought 4 of these. Only one arrived intact. The other three arrived in various states of destruction absolutely due to shoddy packing. One was just the computer in a box, no packing material!! I did promptly receive refunds. Two wanted the item returned. One said keep it. Very frustrating as these were all good deals and shown as working computers.

I'm so sick of the eBay/FB Marketplace game tbh. I'd like to build a site like Swappa but for retro electronics.

I hear ya. But unfortunately eBay is where it's at. You gotta go where the people are, especially with such a niche venture

More than anything, I wish there was a "pay extra to have the item properly packed button." 😆

@@50shadesofbeige88 that won’t work cuz the problem is they don’t know HOW. Anyway, if it breaks they pay for it

@@RDKLInc lol fair enough. I was half joking anyway.

Capitalism, in my hobby? 😮

Absolutely! An active marketplace and retro being worth as much as possible is the one thing that keeps recyclers from bothering to look out for your favorite machines instead of scrapping them. All your favorite devices are scrapped every day at recyclers. If a Commodore 64 is worth $20, it gets destroyed. If it’s worth $200, it doesn’t. It’s a capitalist world, use it for its benefits.

@@RDKLInc Yeah, that's the part that's beneficial to all of us. Even if valuation is inflated, it keeps things out of the scrap heap.

@@AdamChristensenit’s not inflated! A thing is worth what people will pay. Increase value and sell to people who treat it like a museum item, and it’s only a benefit to the preservation of that thing
