very helpful video, watched this throughout installing my R2 air/oil separator. Note to everyone doing this: - he was not kidding when he said its hard to get the PCV hose off. - Also getting the RR Racing tube on was the most difficult part. Definitely use both silicon lubricant and heat. I just used a standard hair dryer Thanks again TC!

Good video. Used it to install mine right now on my 2020 RCF. One thing I think RR racing should have done is where the PCV hose is that comes straight out should be an inch or two longer. Mine is tight against the AOS and I feel like if the hose was slightly just a tad longer it wouldn't be so tight at the AOS left nipple. Plus on top of that it wouldn't be resting/touching the engine cover... Not sure why they didn't add just slightly more hose. WORST case senario give an extra 5" and have the person cut as they see fit on routing it... Would have been much better in my opinion...

Good point, don’t know why they didn’t do that. I would of been fine paying a couple extra bucks if they included a bit extra length on the hose.

@@TCMODS yeah it's like the bare minimum and the way that my top hose is kind of bent it's just tight... From a wire management standpoint I don't like strain on things and this definitely looks like something that eventually after heat and time would probably come loose from the nipple on the catch can... Where is that extra inch or two would give it just enough slack so that there's no tension on it like there is now. D damn it!...lol. It pisses me off when you pay a high premium for a part, And then you end up getting just the bare minimum. Like for real charging extra 20 bucks and give me an extra 3 in of silicon hose, And then just state in the directions, some cutting depending on how you want to route the tube maybe necessary but nothing crazy.

Thank you for doing this video. I got my RR racing AOS and thought I had to cut my engine cover on my 2015 RC F...whew. Props to your vid showing RR racing to acknowledge feedback and make changes.🥲🙂

What about emptying the filter? Do you need to unplug everything and then replug again?

All you have to do is undo the 2 thumb screws and remove the in and out hose from the air/oil separator. RR Racing made the design pretty simple so you won’t need tools to drain the canister

Could you use normal wd40 instead of silicon lubricant?
@TCMODS

People have used wd40 with no issues but RRracings instructions do say to use a silicone lubricant so that’s what I used.

Honestly would of been fine without it but having the oil separator and seeing it fill up with oil after 3-6k of miles it just makes me feel better knowing it’s not going back in to get burned up. Iam not an engineer and I got a really good deal on the kit so why not 🤷‍♂️

Lots to learn on the factory PCV system. It’s a necessary maintenance item for these engines for longevity and performance. Do your research.
