"..sentiment-driven mania, degenerate gamblers everywhere with no regulation" - loved that quote by Wes!

I have told my little brother about indexing and small cap value, he thinks I'm settling for "low" returns and that small cap growth low profitability is gonna make him rich. He doesn't know about factors, or Fama / French so he isn't aware how his strategy is viewed through the factor lens but he does believe that the type of stocks included in the thematic ETFs are the best stocks. His top 3 holdings are Tesla, Palantir and a biotech company but he also has tons of SPACs etc.

Great content as always and many thanks for responding to my comment on the audio issues in the previous podcast. The volume level seems to be much better adjusted now.

Thanks guys, I'm from the UK and I love the show, the academic insight into finance and the guests you have on are brilliant. Would be great to see a few more real word active fund managers to explain their side of the argument. E.g. someone who's behind Morningstar's Wide Economic Moat Index

I did not understand a good part of Wes explanations about taxes and the fund structures. Still was an awesome episode with the topic of thematic ETFs. Audio level was good this time although Wes was way louder than you at the start. Thx for the good work as always

Thank you for your video. Would you consider healthcare as a thematic ETF?
@rationalreminder2 жыл бұрын
I would consider it more of a sector than a theme, but the line is blurry. -Ben

@@rationalreminder Thanks Ben. Although I live in Australia your podcast and KZbin channel are very much relatable.

Thanks! I wish I heard this a couple of years ago before I put a little bit in several of the ARK funds!

Was a bit surprised when someone I think is smart recommended biotech, battery and robotics etfs. Maybe could work if you can get into these etfs if they get cheap enough.

So exciting theme means stocks have priced in that excitement, reducing expected returns

For some reason I thought you recommended Noah's Arc and was so confused.

Good content but I must admit I like Ben's videos better as they're more focused, more compact and generally easier to follow. I hope the podcast doesn't eat up all your time Ben.

Don't get me wrong, I like the long form... but I'm thinking you could gain subs faster by making clipping out bullet points and forming into a 12-20 minute vid. Just a thought.
@BenFelixCSI2 жыл бұрын
More subs is not the objective. We do have a channel for shorter clips, but we have not been diligent about posting kzbin.info/door/thoHf601vVVHi23GNvFRqQ

So happy that it‘s about content and not about subs. Thank you guys again and again!

@@BenFelixCSI Whatever your objective, I assume reaching more people would be in line with it.... or you wouldn't be doing it on camera ;)

@@cbqmrbqm8972 yup, Ben please don't change the format. Too many channels with a superficial approach

is it necessary to be bald if you're male and want to appear on this podcast?
