Just want to say I love this band. I'm a huge fan and consistently follow their shows online due to living on the east coast and the band being in Texas. Got to see them practice when I was in the area and it was a great memory. keep up the great work!

RR's shows are different from most others. They have a sound and use instrumentations differently than a lot of other groups out there. As a result there shows are some of the most entertaining shows.

@325MADness I was a freshman for this show at Reagan, but I did attend this past BOA in San Antonio to watch my cousin perform for Reagan. I got to see Hidalgo's performance and it was definetly a flash-back!! You guys did great. I absolutely loved Synergy and it was crazy to see it again.

yeah this is more Drum Corps Oriented than College. College marching band is about having fun. DCI is about excellence.

@1337evan The diffrence is marching band kids dont know when to have fun and when to work hard. Corps have the perfect balance of fun and hard work.

I'm not overly fond of the direction color guard has taken in the past 10 years or so because it has gotten, as you said, distracting. A successful show should use all sections so that they compliment each other, not distract from one another. Guard instructors really need to work on that. Having said that, it seems equipment writers are always wanting to do the whole "faster-harder" approach when it comes to work, but it shows when they don't pay attention to the talent level of the students.

i agree with Motogu i think the exact same thing...its not the same if u want to win now in days raise above 100,000 dollars to buy props and impress judges in order to get 1st place

Marcus plays difficult music (and REALLY well too), but they do no marching worth noting. Also, Marcus uses the most extravagant props of ANY school I've seen. It is NOT the same competition anymore, in part because Reagan and others started doing some crazier things back around 2000 (think PCEP's band in a box, and that weird hair in one of Reagan's earlier shows). Watch 2:40 - 3:10 again and tell me when Marcus or anyone has done something like that to win a BOA in the last couple years..

Understand that the intent was not to impress the audience with tricky rhythms. It was a different mood, and not everyone has to like it, just like people enjoy different types of music. Also, accept the show as it is, and realize that there are literally hundreds and hundreds of hours necessary to create shows like this. It's a little disappointing how you openly insult it.

Please try to mitigate you're insults towards such things. The people who put the hundreds of hours into this routine did not deserve the pretentious comments you and others have put on here. If you're truly educated with these sort of routines then you must know the blood, sweat and tears others have put into making it perfect. Next time instead of being a downer and hurting the people who really worked hard for this, just say you need some improvements but other then that you did you're best!
@bankaiboss1211 жыл бұрын
I would think twice before insulting such a prestigious band. They've been a great BOA contender, and percussion is one part of the band. Congrats for having a difficult percussion part and bashing another band? Yeah. I would like to see YOUR band have drill like this, which is nothing less than the level of DCI drill. Also the visuals and precision. One percussion part means NOTHING compared to everything else.
@sabrinamichealle1713 жыл бұрын
It looks like the kids were given way too much freedom with their visuals. I dont know who their band director is, but it just looks too unruley. My band director NEVER would've let us get that sloppy. However, it was an exciting crowd pleaser so they have that going for them.
