Saw a documentary about this song. Soul asylum was a small band with a loyal fanbase. After Dave wrote this song they knew that they would be worlfamous and everything would change. And the idea to put missing teens in the video on MTV was just brilliant. Nice person Dave Pirner by the way.

Great song! I remember there was a time I wasn't that fond of this this song. Like most good songs maybe it was just overplayed. But I couldn't agree more with some of you..it really brings you back to the 90s. When things just kinda sucked...opposed to nightmare we live in now. Its a beautiful thing to have songs like this to remind me of better times!

I'm sucker for some relatable song lyrics. If you like Rocky grunge type, check out a band called Smile Empty Soul. Lots of songs have great lyrics that hold true. Let me know what ya think if ya do!

@@kristiemackie6896 the early music I love the best. Like 4 albums where I like every single song. Some can sound depressing as fuck. But I just like the wordplay and the melodies and catchy tunes. Lyrics can mean something different to each person. You relate however you want to relate to them. But yeah check em out when ya can and check back

@@JDawg8733 I listened to them a little bit, and I guess they just don't peak my interests. I'm having a bad day to begin with, and tomorrow marks the 7th anniversary of when my little sister Ali was killed by a drunk driver. Its going to be a tough weekend for me. Anyways, hope you can have a better weekend than me.

@@kristiemackie6896 awww...yeah I get it. Their songs are a little depressing at times. That's not why I like em really. Other reasons. And I'm sorry. I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry for your loss. I just lost my 39 yr old brother few months back unexpectedly from heart failure. Out of nowhere! So I can imagine a little how your feeling. I'm sure you got people to talk to but as a person that cares about others don't hesitate to reach out to a stranger to talk. Ya never know what kind of people you'll run into

Call you up in the middle of the night Like a firefly without a light You were there like a slow torch burning I was a key that could use a little turning So tired that I couldn't even sleep So many secrets I couldn't keep Promised myself I wouldn't weep One more promise I couldn't keep It seems no one can help me now I'm in too deep There's no way out This time I have really led myself astray Runaway train never going back Wrong way on a one way track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there Can you help me remember how to smile Make it somehow all seem worthwhile How on earth did I get so jaded Life's mystery seems so faded I can go where no one else can go I know what no one else knows Here I am just drownin' in the rain With a ticket for a runaway train Everything is cut and dry Day and night, earth and sky Somehow I just don't believe it Runaway train never going back Wrong way on a one way track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there Bought a ticket for a runaway train Like a madman laughin' at the rain Little out of touch, little insane Just easier than dealing with the pain Runaway train never comin' back Wrong way on a one way track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there Runaway train never comin' back Runaway train tearin' up the track Runaway train burnin' in my veins Runaway but it always seems the same
