I'm not gonna guess the numbers but considering this is an older generation of missile, it's possible that Russia had given all the IP related to this missile to Indian organization to build it locally. And Russia probbaly still gets royalty for successful export of the missile.

Why Army is wasting money on Second Generation ATGMs when DRDO completed all Trials of Nag ATGM and ready for Production? BDL also developed Third Generation Amogha-3 ATGM but our Mahatma Army still trust Outdated Technologies. If old Technology is Gold then why they are replacing Insas

Nag isnt man portable. Konkurs can be fired from both a vehicle and personnel. Also, probably Nag is anti-tank, Konkurs can be used against infantry or low flying aircraft. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing maybe that's another difference between the two. Then there's the cost issue. Konkurs wud cost a small fraction of what a Nag costs.

Why is Army giving order for any other ATGM when India has the NAG ATGM which has not received any order.
@Astra_BVR8 ай бұрын
Because Nag is launched from helicopter or armored vehicles.And on the other hand Konkurs m is a man portable atgm. Btw DRDO is working on man portable atgm.

These are overweight and low technology. The Spike LR has nearly the same weight, slightly lighter, and a larger range. Even the indigenous version when they ever get it working properly would be better.

@devangjaveri65053 жыл бұрын
Why are we buying 2nd generation anti tank guided missiles Why nag atgm is not being ordered Our armed forces need to upgrade old weopon systems with latest technology and also buy modern day weopon systems

We develop drdo atgm and many other private Indian companies also developed atgm .then why we are heading towards old generation atgm.which can easily stopped by aps of tank. Army have really serious issues.

I’ve seen videos of the army using these missiles to target fortifications and bunkers on the LOC. Maybe with already existing launchers, that’s the purpose for this order. Using an expensive system would not make sense.

@harbingershekar27273 жыл бұрын
To the idiots who keep blaming army for not choosing nag or amogh. They only ordered the missile for their already existing system not the entire system once again. And the reason they ordered it simply because of cost and training. It’s simply cheaper than 3rd generation missile. And NAG being newer weapon, the soldiers are not widely accustomed to it. NAG will be implemented in a phased manner so as to not botch our operational readiness. Also we ain’t in war to order to large quantity of 3rd gen. Remember we don’t have budget like US or China
