greekdoghera Hi,I just now saw your post and yes Frank is missed he loved playing music it amazing to have been able to meet and hear the many N.Y.City Jazz musicians the best of times for me growing up in Jersey going to N.Y.C ,the clubs in the Village, the food, back when it really was the city that never sleeps.Oh and yes Tom Waits and the combo from New York City has left us allot of great live videos so I can see Frank playing his tenor sax while I remember those years when I was a young man.a long haired hippie merchant seaman loving life and just has turned out to be a beautiful life's journey retired now I'm just sitting back watching the wheels go round as John Lennon wrote in a song and by the way if you listen to the song" What ever gets you through the night"Frank Vicari is the guy on the sax. Hope your having a lovely life,Raymond

Un live meraviglioso registrato con mostri sacri del jazz mondiale. Qui Tom Waits raggiunge un'apice alto del suo livello musicale. Per me il suo disco più bello.

Sinatra said, " scooby, do be, do be do" Waits says, "abA, dooba, do be, day, hey hey" It is Sausage and Eggs! Why? because Tom Waits for Nobody. Keep feeling my life with emotion Tom.....He who feels deepest wins.

Grazie Tom.

@@kellmerWF52 - Tom Waits, himself, said it was just a character that he invented, based on the seedy side of life, and he eventually tired of it, and went on to the next transformation of his career.

I totally agree, to a point. I wish there were more albums with the smooth voice used in Closing Time, and The Heart of Saturday Night, BUT, had he not done the Louis Armstrong thing, theres a helluva lot of great songs that wouldve never come to life. I have 9 Tom Waits CDs, and everyone of them have a character of their own...
