Thank you to the Town of Brookhaven for hosting Jim Broatch, RSDSA's Executive Vice President and Director, and Debbie ONeal, Chair of the 5th Annual RSDSA Long Island CRPS Awareness Walk & Expo, on Thursday, August 31's "Coffee with the Supervisor."

It brings tears to my eyes to see this horrible disease I've been living with since 2014 get more exposure. Awareness is of extreme importance. Take care of Maya was an amazing look at the ignorance of the medical community and child protection services. Emergency room Doctors lack education regarding CRPS. I had CRPS in both feet and palms when I stumbled over a kitchen chair landed with the corner pressed into my stomach. The pain was excruciating and I called the dr who told me to go to the ER incase something was wrong internally. At the ER I told them I had CRPS and that I was already on pain medication and my only concern was if I had internal injuries. They scoffed at my CRPS and treated me like a drug addict. needless to say I ended up not able to eat anything but liquid for over a year until I had my first Ketamine infusion. Bless you all for sharing.

Ankle sprain, lost use of leg immediately, pain and discoloration and swelling immediately. RSD 1991. 4 years for diagnosed finally by Dr. Hooshman in Vero Beach Florida. Thermography said full body. It's been a journey, that's the truth. Bless you all for your efforts and support. God bless you all.

Strengthen your central nervous system. I have CRPS. The underlying cause is a malfunction and imbalance of the Autonomic Nervous System. Your brain thinks and is signaling pain response to the trauma- injury. After the injury has healed. Sending Light and Love.💫✨💫

I almost died when a new doctor at the VA cut my meds by 60% and I ended up with emergency spinal the release muscle spasms caused by reduction restricting my diaphragm and dropping my blood oxygen to 83% and dropping. The LAW says no more than 10% at a time. I ended up bed ridden for the best part of a year and am still retraining my body to function after finally getting my meds restored to 80%. Lost 2 years of my life a n d still struggling. It has been a real struggle to get help. In addition the CRPS has spread!!! I'm getting old and my family needs me to have my life back.
