I had a Sprit GT model and the tremolo system is horrible, I returned it, the notch that' supposed to keep it "locked" is too small and with a little pressure it snaps and the tremolo floats again

And what about turning it to a fixed bridge by simply put a piece of metal,hard piece teflon or even a polyester capacitor to block the movement for sharpen the notes while in the opposite side the sping pushes the bridge to balance the string tension.Then can have larger force from the spring and the bridge can remain steady.Or can work for diving the notes,but if put a taller piece can even block this movement too and then is permanent fixed.

The lever locks the bridge in place, i.e., it disables the trem. This is the only proper way to tune the guitar. When the lever is released, the fine adjustment knob tunes the guitar to perfect pitch. Never turn the 6 adjustment knobs while the lever is not locked in place. If the fine adjustment knob is unable to balance the tuning to what it should be, then the spring holder/collar is broken. Rarely is the spring itself broken. When Gibson purchased Steinberger they went to cheap parts (Spirit GT Pro), and the trem system is not robust. I do not own a Steinberger Synapse, but it does not seem to be well-designed either. The bean counters never listen to the engineers.

2:53 what's that floating thing called? it should be called the bridge, or machine head tray. Those are called saddles, not the bridge. Yes that is an Allen key. 6:08 yea mine does that... I reckon the retainer has got bent somehow, probably by putting the guitar in a case with the trem arm on... but I don't lock the trem on my other guitars so I am not so bothered

Do yours also is so tightly built into the guitar that you can't dive too deep with the bar or it bumps into the edge of the tremolo cavity? It's the weirdest thing, like they didn't really expect anyone to use it. Thought mine was somehow modified but there's zero trace of that. It's like it needs shimming everything to make it sit higher or removing a bit of the tremolo cavity next to it.

ok it was actually busted, entire base plate warped, nevermind.

They're not adjustable (altough you can try to put shims under the bridge to make it sit higher I guess)

@@reghunt2487 really? this is my second Hohner headless - the first one (decades ago) was flawless, and I liked & used the trem (vibr! ;-) ) a lot. - yeah, sorry for the super slow video releases, you may have noticed the follow-up video, but i'm running out of ideas. once i get it working properly, i'll make proper use of it, meaning: video. :) thanks for watching, btw. :-)

@@romaneberle I used to have a Hohner G2T, and I loved it. The trem was great. But now the Spirit trems are terrible. But look on KZbin and try to find vids of anyone actually using the trems on either guitars. It''s like ppl are scared of them.
