I like building stuff and operating QRP c.w. Playing with a Pixie at the moment, 350mW out to a low dipole and worked 180 miles so far although I had an SWL report from Holland. G4GHB.

This video is not too long, it could get boring if too long. Interference could spell the end for us, I thought I was going to suffer with it but thankfully it cleared up. I always found people thought it strange that I wanted to do this hobby then everybody was an expert overnight when C.B. came in and that has all but died. The more interested ones realised there was more to radio than buying a rig, twig, burner, power mike and swerr meter and came to amateur radio. I never went on C.B. after hearing it but had my amateur licence anyway. I love building or modifying gear. G4GHB.

We are biased, but we love what is possible with a mid range SDR like the SDRplay RSP - it's made in the UK and piggy backs on the power of an existing PC (or other host processor) - for reviews see www.eham.net/reviews/detail/12358 - it allows people to play anywhere from experimental LF up to 23cms plus 'all stations in between' !

I love the enthusiasm around 3.57 You are delusional if you think Amature radio as a future it's being systematically eroded be interference and there is nothing you can do about it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

All you hear on the bands nowadays is hams complaining about interference (that's if you are lucky enough to hear them ) In maybe five years from now if you're in an urban area forget radio you simply won't be able to hear it.No confidence in Ofcom as a regulator they are not fit for purpose. It's too late to do anything now the RSGB as been fighting PLT for over TEN YEARS unsuccessfully and the situation as only gotten worse and will continue to do so because there is nothing anyone can do to stop it.

Maybe I'm lucky but the noise doesn't seem too bad here until I search outside the amateur bands. I'm adding 60m to my rig so re-designing the layout for 60m filters. G4GHB.

Ofcom’s take on this will be that amateurs being affected is minimal impact balanced against the benefit of majority having faster broadband. Openzone and the PLT makers haven’t notched out the ham bands because it allows their systems to run faster if they don’t. But that strategy only works if the bands are quiet. The way to deal with this is for hams to put constant chattering traffic on the bands (that we are legally licenced to use) and let Openzone and the PLT manufacturers sort out their kit with notches - that’s not disruptive because they should have set their kit up compliant with standards to begin with.

Amature radio is almost useless now with power line technology it is interfering with hf spectrum and you might want to consider not purchasing any radio equipment if there are any of them around your neighbourhood. Your shiny 10 thousand pound radio will not work as intended and there is nothing you can do about it.Ofcom is a joke they are not fit for purpose you should do your research before you commit to spending your hard earned cash on something to will not operate in your area due to interference.Ofcom will not do anything to stop it and the RSGB won't help either they are a waste of time.Dont say you weren't warned!!!!!

Amateur's are ruining Amateur radio by all these contest's and and everything else they do. Radio is meant for talking and having fun not all this stupid stuff.
