This is THE best comprehensive introduction to Amateur Radio I've seen. Really fast paced, excellent production values, well voiced and oriented toward the future generation of Radio Amateurs. You make Amateur Radio irresistible!

Now this is REAL education that should be in schools - Technology understood and applied, with the theory behind it. Every child should have the opportunity to assemble their own computer and their own radio, grow some fruits and veggies, and undertand the way the world works and grows.

Great video! Back in the 90s I was stationed in Japan with a HAM friend. He was crazy! I helped him several times do Moon bounce comms back to the east coast. It was great hands on building and trying antennas and figuring out the moon to find the sweet spots. Will always remember the challenge.

Excellent video that was well done and informative. One thing I noticed is that the clubs in England seem to have done many things right with the younger generation of new hams. Here in USA, I have not seen much enthusiasm from younger "potential" hams. The clubs here seem to filled with "us" old farts. The kids overseas seem well spoken and enthusiastic about radio and technology. Good for them, hopefully it spreads to other parts of the world, including the USA.

The SDRplay RSP SDR (Software Defined Radio receiver) is an ideal, low cost way of getting to experience amateur radio - it powers via USB to a PC and covers everything from short wave through to microwave bands. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJelpn-AnM90pMk - it uses excellent British technology (the RSP is manufactured in Peterborough!) with a support team in the UK - Perfect for schools and colleges

This video is much better than the book, Alex Discovers Amateur Radio. Electronics is taught in schools now. I wish they did when I started secondary school in the mid 60's. I wonder if teachers ever mention amateur radio? Special event stations can show amateur radio to the public and I think some are fascinated seeing Morse Code in use. G4GHB.

My State has more square miles /kilometers than the Country of U.K., so when out beyond the metropolitan city, cell phones at times are sketchy, even Satellite phones have issues, with mobile radios, portable mag. Loop antennas I can send radio traffic and even short email over HF to the next State, from out in the middle of nowhere. For Engineers it's also a license to develop RF gear on its bands, encryption excluded.
