Here in Alabama, we know and understand St. Nick. It took us a while, but we’re there. I’m a true blue Auburn fan, but everybody in this state respects, admires, and listens to Coach Saban. This is what we know: he cares first and foremost about the well-being of his players. He does not dwell on past accomplishments. Once a game, division, conference, or national championship is won, it’s put away, and he starts preparing for the next challenge. Nick Saban is the most competitive coach I’ve ever seen, but it’s not his success he works so hard for. He wants his players to be successful. Once the season is over, the challenge is still there. New recruits to develop, train, guide, and teach. That truly explains Nick Saban and why the state loves him. He’s there for his players.

Couple things. He doesn't seem to yell at his players as intensly as he yells at his staff/officials. If he does, it is usually his best players. He expects more from them. He ALWAYS sticks up for his players. Finally, pressure to play for Nick Saban is too high. Hard pass for me 🤣
