I’ve been through a very similar situation. Probably a bit easier because I’m just some guy, but I had to move states and change my name. She still contacts my family to this day and they tell her that I died a few years ago. Put fake obituaries in the paper and everything. Lot of really insane people out there.

Generally speaking, Ryan is talking about Defamation. There are 2 subcategories of defaming, one for speaking and one for writing/print. Slander is oral defamation and Libel is written defamation.

💜💜💜💜 Gareth, do not feel weird about saying you understand women better now. I have had crazy stalkers. You should feel that you get it. We deal with too much, and guys don't usually have that happen. My heart goes out to you for speaking out. I love this episode. I have to ask you both though, are you not aware of catfish? Watch the movie and the show. It will blow your mind. Gareth could totally be on that show. Nev though, one of the creators of the show, went through something very similar to Gareth in the movie. Which inspired the show. The term catfish comes from the husband of the woman who is lying to Nev in the documentary. Crazy shit.

Everything he talked about is no joke. I wouldn't even talk about it publicly now. My brother-in-law messed around with a wrong girl. She terrorized the entire family for over a year. Threating our kid and others, having details on things we couldn't imagine, and no matter how many times we went to the police, they couldn't prove anything based on all the random numbers. They basically said good luck until we have something concrete. The effect it has on your life is rough. Glad it stopped for us, but we are very cautious now and we weren't even the main source of the event
