She was spending the night with me in my room that I shared with a buddy of mine and our door had a similar locking issue where I needed to pull the door hard to shut it in order to lock it properly. That day we had just driven to the town over to hang out at a mall with some mutual friends and driven back so we were all three exhausted. I didn’t shut the door properly but didn’t realize so we all went to sleep. At about 3 am or so this girl bursts in to our room completely drunk with her sober friend who was probably trying to get the drunk one home safe. She started screaming about how this was her room and we need to get out or she’ll call security. My girlfriend and I are just sitting there half asleep like “who are you and why are you here? Do you see all my stuff this is obviously not your room” before my roommate gets up and walks calmly over to the drunk girl and just says “hey look we’ve al been in your shoes but this isn’t your room and you’re being rude about it, get out so we can sleep” she just kinda stood there processing before going “my bad y’all. Love you guys. Goodnight” and walked out. Needless to say I will never forget that nor will I forget to lock my door again.

The best part about the first story is, her husband wasn't even cheap. He offered over $5,000 for any ring she wanted, and im sure he would have been okay with it if she picked out a massive gaudy stone on a yellow gold band, but she just.... didn't. Because he loved her enough that he wanted her to be happy with her ring, he let her choose.

I like how the intruder actually kind of stood up for OP to his mom. Even though he was in the wrong. I agree with OP, he honestly does sound like a coddled overgrown child who didnt know any better...thanks to crappy parents.

my GF feels the same about diamonds, she would rather have a colorful gem. we talked about getting matching rings with both of our birthstones on them, Amethyst and topaz, but she didn't like the yellow topaz. her dad then found her grandma and I proposed with that. it's not the ring your marrying, it's the person. I would be fine being proposed to with a ring pop.
@hannathehumblebard1013 жыл бұрын
I'm also one of those people who don't really care for diamonds. My favorite stone is rutilated quartz (the clear stones with gold or silver threads) cos it makes my fingers tingle - and I'd much prefer if my guy got something like that for me when the time comes. It really isn't about the ring - the person is, and it's about the person more than anything.

I have to agree with the ring lady. My husband and I were together 10 years before he gave me my ring. We're both Renaissance Faire fans, and he bought two rings that are chainmail (his is black and red, mine is two shades of blue). The funniest and sweetest part was he gave it to me during a "Critical Role" clip when Marisha announced her engagement to Matt. He had them on a shelf above our bed, jumped up, and grabbed them. The dork had forgotten he'd gotten them months prior to this moment. I can't wear it on my finger anymore because the elastic that keeps the links together is stretched out, but I keep it on my favorite necklace.

Tbh I kinda wanna encounter an EP that accuses me of hating children just so I can respond with “yeah. And?” Just to see what the response would be. The kids are their only bargaining chip so without that what would they use to guilt trip you out of money?

As far as the first story, the first thought to come to my mind was: “Hear that daughter? Your father means less to me than the cost of this wedding ring.” Wow.
@LMSPetRescue3 жыл бұрын
The first story reminded me of my parents. They got married young and my dad didn’t have money for both an engagement and wedding ring so they got matching flat gold bands that were both their engagement and wedding ring. They were simple but beautiful and my mom absolutely loved them. Unfortunately while they were at the beach for vacation they went swimming with their rings on and my dad’s slipped off in the water. He was so mortified and upset to have lost it. They couldn’t find a matching band to my mom’s anymore so he got one that was similar but silver. A few years later his coworker was left at the alter and was trying to sell him ex fiancées diamond engagement ring but couldn’t get back even close to the money he spent, my dad had helped him a lot with work and he offered to sell him the diamonds in the ring for less than he bought them for. All he said was “You and your wife are like family to me. I just want to know that someone will treasure it for the rest of their life.” So my dad secretly bought them and had them fashioned onto a beautiful diamond wedding ring my mom had eyed without a word when they were ring shopping almost a decade prior. My mom wore both the original and the new ring forever. She always said the diamonds didn’t matter to her, but she knew my dad always wanted to be able to get her one so she treasures it more than anything in the world She always gave me the best advice about relationships “It doesn’t matter how much money they spend or how flashy things are. All that matters is that it comes from the heart. I would’ve been happy with a plastic band, but your dad was always a romantic who loved to show how much he cared about me. It’s not the ring that told me he loved me though, it was the fact that he knew how I took my tea when I was, the fact that put my towel in the dryer when I took a shower so it was warm when I got out, the way he could always make me laugh. It was the little things that truly made him my husband” They were married for 11 years without a diamond ring and 23 years in total and were only separated by the fact that my dad passed away from cancer.
@SailorMya3 жыл бұрын
The ring one got me because the newest craze for wedding/engagement rings is nontraditional/non-diamond rings! More people are looking at alternatives to diamonds not just because of price but their own style/interest. I mean if I'm going to wear a ring for presumably the rest of my life I would rather it be my taste/style then a generic diamond ring... Even if it was a diamond ring I'm sure the size would be an issue too! I got to pick out my ring and I went with a cosplay promise ring from the anime Sailor Moon and I love it! It was surprisingly cheap but I got it because I loved it so much! It doesn't matter what you spent as long as you are happy with it at the end of the day!

In the second story.. he entered the room without turning on the lights and quietly crept to her bedside? It's not impossible that he didn't want to turn on bright lights and was quietly trying to get into what he thought was his bed, but it is something to note.

When I was younger, my northern family was visiting, and we went to the beaches in the gulf. My aunt and uncle were the ones driving, so they had a rental car. So we stopped at place to eat, had lunch, and started out to the parking lot, got to a car that was the exact same kind of car, model make and color lol, and proceded to unlock it, open the door, and then realize while looking inside, "wait...this isnt our car..." lol. Thankfully nothing bad happened, pure mistake, and one that still makes me laugh at to this day.

The story of the intruder reminds me of when my mom and dad woke up to a random guy watching them sleep at the foot of the bed. That last story I can relate to. I work at a grocery store and last year about this time I was on my last day in my previous position (long story) and we close at 9pm instead of midnight due to lock down and so my last shift was the day before Mother’s Day and I spent my last hour helping close everything down and letting the last of our customers out the door. At 9:30 I’m letting out some employees that made their final purchases after closing (we do that to give them a chance to shop before we pull the last drawer) and this woman comes pulling into the parking lot and strutting up to the door just as I’m locking it and demands that I let her in that she “only needs to get a few things” I told her that we closed half an hour ago but that she could try the store less than 2 minutes away from us. Her response was that “they’re already closed and that I have to let her in because she needs things for Mother’s Day.” I told her again that I cannot help her because everything is shut down for the night. She says again “so you’re not going to let me shop for Mother’s Day?! How rude and disrespectful can you be?! I neeeed to get these things!” I mentioned earlier how it was my last shift, and I had been dealing with holiday crowds all day. I. Was. Pissed! So putting on my best customer service smile I say to her: No ma’am our hours are from 6am to 9pm Everyday it’s not the stores fault that you had 15 hours to do your shopping today and you waited until 30 minutes after we closed to decide to get your “few items “ so you have two choices either go to the local Wal-Mart to get the items you desperately need or come back at 6am tomorrow. Oh and have a nice evening and hope you have a happy Mother’s Day! Boom mic drop

That one free pepper spray a year idea is the best Idea I've ever heard. "Ma'am, you do know every one gets to spray someone with pepper spray once per year? Well, I haven't had mine yet. Keep it up and you're going o be very uncomfortable. And there's not a damned thing anyone can do about it. Before you accept college housing, make sure you read the residential agreement fully. Almost all have provisions for *absolutely no illegal substances.* Heck, a few (maybe more than a few) have provision for no alcohol. And every one I've ever heard of sets down that no warrant is needed for the school to come though to inspect, although some might require a warrant if police want to do so.

The only situation i could MAYBE see it being a mistake would be if the guy were absolutely hammered and *started* the contesting with "I'm so so sorry, i don't usually drink like that. I understand what i did wrong and understand there have to be consequences. You deserve an apology, though, from me and in person. And i am so sorry." Like, homeboy better *grovel* for the scare he gave op if he truly meant no harm (which i doubt, thank god op is a heavy sleeper).

Rslash, I really love your videos, but the way you REPEATEDLY misgendered OP in the story about the guy breaking in is really gross. The story used they/them pronouns through the whole thing and you used she/her for OP despite that clearly not being what they wanted.

I oddly enough proposed to my wife without a ring; I later made her ring from enamel copper wiring and an amethyst from and old earring and clear nail polish. I was able to make her a ring not only in her size, but she also loved it "was very me" because it was so organic looking. It now sits on display on the cork of an old cat shaped wine bottle, sense it wasn't durable enough for regular wear.
