If I remember correctly, we had teams of four, and eight hours to go and find the things on the list. Sometimes it was to a take a picture (pre-cell phones, so 1 hour photo). Sometimes it was to buy something specific, but cheap (college students!). But it always included a stop at the university police station for the driver to get a breathalyzer (No drunk driving, even in the 1990's.). I was in the Boise State marching band, so it was one of our teams that almost always won because we knew the city, the people (we had all met the mayor, governor, and every politician), knew how to drink (way too much), and knew how to cheat. I haven't tried putting black olives and cooked yellow onion in some yet but I think I will next time. If it can go on a pizza, it can go in mac n' cheese! I actually had a mac n' cheese pizza once. It was 20 years ago so I was probably less picky about food at the time, but betcha it's still amazing! 😁I often make "healthy" mac n' cheese by instead of using cheese, using boiled cauliflower in a blender with nutritional yeast (sometimes called "nooch") and salt, which makes not-cheese, which is probably why the powder is called nooch. It makes me feel a lot less slow fat and sleepy after eating it. Incidentally, if you put taco seasoning in it, it makes such amazing nacho not-cheese that it's far and away better than any actual nacho cheese I've ever had and then you can load the chips with it and any other veggies you can think of. Have fun! The pie's the limit! 🤪💭

be careful on how you prepare your veggies, some ways are better then others. ex: i can only stand to eat brussel sprouts if they are roasted because otherwise they taste nasty to me. there are lots of ways to prepare veggies: frying, steaming, baking, roasting, boiling, and just cutting them up to eat raw. experiment often to find which you prefer. and one thing you can do is puree them up in a blender to make a sauce to pour over pasta or chicken. you'd get the flavor and nutrients without the texture that way.

Lol, how did the wife have to pay 2 grand for the list of wack items? Doesn't he have to be able to prove that he bought those? Oh, and that they are in the house.

The girlfriend in the last story has 1 billion IQ, not only did she save OP from jail, she made OP save money compared to paying the fine and screwed over the ex in the process! Absolutely beautiful!

To be fair, mushrooms feel like rubber and I can't handle peppers of any kind. Since I have to go to the pet store for live insects to feed my geckos, I've figured on lacing cookies with crickets in the event of a food thief at work. People do eat them. Given my partner's love for spicy stuff, I can always claim to have grabbed the wrong chili if they don't learn the first time.

Story one, I feel so sorry for the kid his mum is so irresponsible. It's our job to make sure they eat, although it's nice to get rotisserie chicken and ready made food it's expensive and unhealthy! It should be a treat when we are doing well with money or your kitchen appliances are not working, you can make some really tasty meals for a fraction of the price of ready made. I go to the posh cheese shop and get a nice block of chedder, some thick smoked bacon from the deli or butchers etc and I make a huge tray of macaroni so there's left overs for lunch the following day. I was incredibly fussy as a child and my parents were poor full time workers, we would get the same meal and told what you don't like just pick it off and eat the rest . Vegetables? Put them aside , toppings on a pizza like mushrooms? Put them on the side, I tell my teenager the same just pick off the pineapple off the pizza 😂

I used to SO enjoy watching someone buy frozen lobster egg rolls with food stamps, when I had just decided that a pan of lasagna wasn't in my budget that month. That's one of the reasons there was a socioeconomic divide where I grew up between "poor people" (the sort who would blow their food stamps on convenience foods, then go beg at food pantries) and people who insisted they "had never been poor, just didn't have any money." The latter group (which counted my family among it) knew how to pinch a penny until it screamed. I've gathered wild plants to have something to eat, and worked any job that I could earn a dollar at.

Last story is great cause while technically you can argue things are supposed to be split 50/50 if you break up without a prenup you used a legal loophole and complied maliciously. Great story 👍

Last story makes no sense, why would a judge hold you in contempt for items he cant prove exist or that he owns? They see that kind of thing all the time, which is why they generally require proof of existance such as pictures, receipts, communication evidence it exists. Not to mention of course, getting a bunch of broken down things to pass off... again, something a Judge will know happens and would ACTUALLY find them in contempt for this (believe it or not, but pawn shops will also work with police/law enforcement on this stuff too lmao, so her telling them means they would likely dob her in)

I had a roommate that would use all of our dishes and then hide them in his room. He had a whole bunch of food in them that was molding. His room was full of trash. He had a loft bed. His trash pile went halfway up. We had to buy new pots, pans, utensils, and deep clean all of our furniture when we moved. We got a new bed. He had, uh, relations in our old bed. Everything in the house stunk like bo and cigarettes.

Rented a room in my mid 20s from a lady who also subletted other rooms out. Two of the guys who lived there regularly stole my food, despite the fact I got less than 50 usd at the time to feed me for the week, and to cover some basic bills due to being on SSI and needing a payee. I finally got pissed when I had bought a brand new bottle of ketchup and it was replaced with a used one. I had however written my name and date on it in sharpie so the asshat couldn't deny it. He also finally got evicted after stealing over 200 usd of frozen goods from the lady. Bastard even was drinking directly from my 2 liter of soda I had just bought because "He just wanted soda...." Mind you the dude was in his 30s......Fortunately the lady I rented from was at least willing to help me out when these ingrates stole from me so I at least didn't go hungry.

I have one thing to say after listening to the third story, If you have bad habits, tell your roommate so that you both are on the same page, and if they say no to you living with them then do something about those bad habits or else no one well let you live with them. But that woman, good god she needs help with that shit, firstly don't steal shit that isn't yours and secondly, don't let your pet eat human food you'll get them both sick AND addicted to eating it to the point that they well refuse to eat actual pet food TLDR: Do your half of the house work and do your own chores, and don't let your pets eat human food, even if it's fine to do so

I cringed at the waste of sanitary supplies in the second story. Also, I'd have told her that if she's not going to take care of her cat, I will. But, if I'm the one caring for them, they're my cat now and she has given up her ownership rights. I will not stand by and watch that kind of animal abuse.

Kinda happy the op in the last story didn't go to jail. My thought process went to him breaking in while she was in jail and claiming squatters rights when she got out. IDK where they live but a lot of places in the U.S. completely support squatters rights.

Its not Ops place to feed her Roommate and her kid. I grew up in a" you ate what's on your plate' home. And I have gone a week without eating before. If they were starving they would eat anything, so i dont think that's the case. It seems like sheer entitlement.

If I were in OP's shoes, I'd have quietly but FIRMLY tell Amy that her constantly hitting on MY Boyfriends is unacceptable and her failure to clean up after herself and her cat is totally unacceptable and she is expected to continue to contribute to the household expenses and CLEAN UP AFTER HERSELF!!! Failure to do so WILL result in me and Tom finding a new place to live and she'll be out on her ass since her name is NOT on the Lease...I don't care what her problem with me is but she REALLY needs to grow up and start acting like an adult instead of a toddler throwing a tantrum!
