Imagine being put on the spot, in a situation where you don’t know the entire story. You’re more than likely gonna believe the first person who told you. He should have handled it differently yes, but I don’t entirely blame him, especially if the other side of the party is being incredibly hostile. (All be it understandable after finding your lost dog). But if your in the middle of a situation where things become hostile fast, and he has to find a way to calm the situation,(even if it’s the bad way as he did) usually the quickest way to make the aggressor to leave the store, and guess who that person was... OP has every right to be angry, livid even, but he didn’t help himself being the aggressor; giving the Karen the advantage. She knew she kidnapped op’s pupper, but lying is a skill. And that’s what all Karen’s are known for, and it drags everybody into the mud

I remember when I was young, grandpa had dogs. First was a german shephard named Haris. He was a sweetie, always playful and kind to all kids. I and neighbor kids played with him all the time while outside. So... he had a reputation of being a cowardly and friendly dog. So... my grandpa sometimes left him and his other dog, a small poodle hybrid, Bonny, on garden. Since they lived in a pannelhouse, garden was separated, few kilometers away. Normally we'd come next morning and pick them both up. However... this time... something else happened. Grandpa got a call in the middle of the night. I slept there that night and since ringing landline was super noisy, it woke me up. Grandpa comes rushing in. He picks it and after few short shocked responses hangs up. He told me to dress up, something happened on garden. I jumped up, dressed up and we headed out. When we got there, cops were already there. I saw the gate was broken. Luckily it was just a metal frame with wiring, so it wasn''t such a loss. As we parked, we headed in and were met by officer. He talked with grandpa while he sent me to the shed on far side of garden. I didn't understand what was going on at the time, but officers seemed to be keeping their distance. There were also different voices coming from shed itself and Bonny was barking at door while Haris kept growling at the officers. As soon as I approached, Haris calmed down, walked up to me and licked me to welcome me. Bonny did too. I heard grandpa yelling at me to take them both to hen house on the side of the shed. So... I took them there, they both were good boys and followed me. I locked us up with grandpa's hens, checked for eggs while I was at it and officers finally moved in. It was only later that I actually learnt what was going on. Appearantly, some burglars attempted to steal Haris and expected it to be easy, since he was supposed to be a coward. But... you can probably guess what happened. The moment they broke in, by breaking the gate, Haris and Bonny attacked them. They cut off their escape and in panic they hurried into the shed. It was common practice not to lock these in the past as criminality was that low. Well... cops came in as some neighbor called them, but Haris was still in attack mode, so he saw them as more intruders. He would not let them approach. I think he was protecting the hens and little chickens. So cops called grandpa to try to tame the dogs. He took me with him so I could take them to hen house and calm them while he talks with cops. Haris once also protected me from pushy teenagers. So... while friendly, he could be quite a ferocious fighter when needed. Only when I was older, I found out he was actually a trained military combat dog that used to guard borders with uncle, who was a soldier. So he was trained to protect and defend, but also to kill. We are a post-communistic country that was actually bordering with Western block, so you can imagine just what kind of tranining he had to guard the Iron Curtain. Thank god he was smart enough not to attack the cops and stayed back to protect the hens and Bonny. Grandpa said that he knew they'd both calm down and follow me as in dangerous situation, I'd be the priority over the hens and some burglars. Yeah, not really fitting with the Entiteled Parents thing, but I thought I'd share it since this one was kinda dog steal themed. Rest in peace Haris and Bonny, you brave sons of bitches.

That dog story reminded me of something that happened when I was a teenager.. My golden retriever (he passed away at age 15yrs about 3 yrs ago) wasn't a service dog (he took training after this) but he knew how to help me whenever i was having a panic attack while on walks with him (i fall to the ground in a sitted position and lower my head, so he would sit in front of me and rest his head on mine to calm me down) so a lot of my neighbours knew if they saw this I needed help.. well one day a new neighbour saw me walking with him, he was a few feet ahead of me with no leash cause he was a good boy who stayed close.. I fell and in a sudden random panic attack cause i was stressed from work and before my dog could come over this arshhole grabbed him, put a leash on him and dragged him into her house! Another neighbour who saw came running over, helped me up, calmed me down and called the cops who went to the house and said if the woman didn't give me my dog back she would be arrested for stealing a service animal from a person with a mental disability. She gave him back but yelled that i was abusive and neglectful.. the neighbour that help me yelled loudly at her "are you f-ing kidding me! She saved this dog from a guy who beat him daily! Don't say crap you can't back up moron!" and took me and my dog home.. This woman legit took my dog who had a collar into her house because i fell to the ground while my dog wasn't on a leash in front of me, thinking i was ignoring and neglecting him >.>

There are significant differences in the behavioral genes of domesticated dogs versus wolves. Wolf/dog hybrids can actually be MORE dangerous than full wolves owing simply to the fact that they are sometimes wildly unpredictable from one situation to the next. (Will he act like a dog? Will he act like a wolf? Will he act like neither? Who can say?)

So actually this happened to me! (Before the pandemic) Me and my 60 lbs pitty baby where chilling outside. He had a collar on and a bandana, he loves getting dressed up. A woman came up to us, I thought to pet him since that was normal. she started taking off his collar. My pitty wouldn't harm a fly. He barked like he was going to kill her. She ran across the street and called animal control. My dog got up and cuddled my foot, watching the grass blow or something. Animal control comes and my parents come outside. My mom can be a karen but to protect me and my brother(I call my dog my brother) when the animal control comes closer to my dog they see the collar, then the woman. They explain what they knew to my mom and dad. Then my mom asked me what happened. My mom was pissed. Karen was in deep shit with the law. Something about theft. I dont remember I didn't care. I just wanted to have my popsicles and give my dog some dog safe ones(water, apple juice, frozen)

Then we freaked out and went down the neighborhood and asked people if they have seen our dog. This next house is what pisses me off, we knocked on the door and he opened it. We asked if he has seen our dog and he said no and we asked if he can be on the look out. Then as we were about it leave, our pug comes running at us from inside the house. I have a service dog. For the most part, I haven't had a ton of issues. My dog is about 12 lbs and, yes, she's beyond adorable.i hear things like, "Little dogs can't be a service dog" a lot. I try to ignore it. Just learn to say, "Please do not touch or distract my dog" politely and firmly. Practice it a lot, so it's second nature. Do NOT feel guilty about it! That's what I've struggled with. I like kids and used to be a teacher, but Calina cannot greet when in her service dog vest (best signal for the dog to work), and I had to be firm. Also, carry the Americans with Disabikities Act cards with you. And service dogs are not required to wear vests, but I highly suggest you do get a vest. It's a great way for the dog to know when s/he is formally working, and obviously a visual signal for others.

So my mom has 2 dogs and this past summer, they were outside. Neither one wanted to go inside and my mom needed to run to dollar general to get something (I don’t remember what) and my sister was at my apartment. So the dogs were essentially home alone. My mom gets home about 5 minutes later and both dogs were gone. She called me and my sister and I immediately went out and started looking. We went up to doors and asked if they had seen them and my sister was literally sobbing. One lady said she had seen a truck with two dogs that kind of looked like my moms in the back but she wasn’t sure who the driver was or where they went. Police did nothing because we had nothing to go off of. About three weeks later they both show back up. My mom got off work and they were both just laying on the porch. They had rope tied around their necks like a makeshift leash and after being home for a couple of hours, they weren’t acting like themselves. They wouldn’t get up on the couch and cuddle, they refused to get up on my sisters bed, when I walked in, they barely barked, and the youngest one wouldn’t play at all when normally that’s all he wanted to do. To this day we don’t know where they went, who took them, or what happened to them, but they’re back to their normal selves now and they will not be left home alone outside anymore.
@shadowstar96564 жыл бұрын
I might have an idea of what happened, i know this was a two month old comment but i just now saw it so.. Whoever took them most likely hurt them to get them to obey, some people will snag animals they can get their hands on (regardless of them obviously being owned or not) and will attempt to force them to obey them, if they don't? They get hurt, they'll sometimes give the animals back if their too attached to their original owners, which COULD have been the case, don't quote me on that though! The explanation of their behavior after you got em back just makes me think that.

That store employee was right. That dog owner should really be thanking Karen for stealing his service dog and letting him eat 5 pounds of random food that, for all she knew, the dog could have been allergic to. She had "good intentions" and deserves a medal shaped like a cookie.

this is why I keep a close eye on anyone near me or my service dog. shes my lifeline because I have severe axiety an depression and she is trained to alert and deep pressure etc. if someone takes her GET READY FOR SOME GUN FIRES (: luckily she dosent like being near strangers and will run to find me if she's relaxing somewhere

leaving the dog unattended and without a collar is kinda unresponsible from the owners wife.
@rebeccas28014 жыл бұрын
Ada Mant even if you think this, the woman should’ve gone straight to the vet and got his chip checked. In the U.K. you have to alert the dog warden of a dog you found, they will then check the chip and take responsibility for the dog. What was the woman doing feeding him that much dry food as well as being in a pet store instead of a vet
@JayTeeBeez4 жыл бұрын
Also that a person was nearby the Dog and he was trained enough to not run away or anything (he even came back to check up on them). The only reason he had to leave their sight as they stated was most likely cause he was taken against his will.
@local_anxiety_rat12764 жыл бұрын
Likely the dog didn't have a collar cause its a service dog
@bluefan8984 жыл бұрын
A problem that animals typically have when they wear collars for extended periods is losing fur and getting rashes. OP and his wife probably take his collar off to avoid that issue.

Akita and GSPs are tied for the nicest dogs I’ve ever met. Akitas are much larger, and I never owned one personally, but they were so much more relaxed. My many GSPs, were forever loyal, and they never got violent, besides animals that ran through our woods. GSPs are also willing to go chase a Black Bear, just because it sees that my family members were out side. She didn’t get too hurt, most of her wounds were likely from the blackberries across my property. Akita’s are calm, but they understand how large they are. Both I’ve know, never bark unless they sense danger. My friend’s Akita scared a crack-head half to death with one bark. Until then, I didn’t know they could get that loud.
