Very nice to see even the niche engines are made by the big manufacturers, and it’s even more nice to know that it’s now living safe in your collection :)

Seems that custom runs and colorful paint schemes are all the rage these days for O scale trains!! Funny enough I have a mug of this locomotive with a design I made for the Battenkill Railroad themselves so that'll be a fun picture to get!
@wayneantoniazzi27069 ай бұрын
The manufacturers are usually ameanable to custom runs as long as a certain amount are contracted for, how many depends on the manufacturer.

Really nice addition to your collection Corey.I am also only in conventional .Old school here,but I love it. Keep up the good work, Jim

Thanks for the comment Jim! The more I've run this loco around since the video, the greater I fall in love with it haha, it works really well conventionally so I'm super happy with it!

Hi R's Trains. I'm a huge fan of yours. I watched all of your videos. They are amazing. I love your layout. It looks fantastic.

What a cool addition to the roster ❤ There's many commands you can perform ruining conventionally - operating the remote couplers, PFA sounds, etc. You don't need a MTH transformer to do these.
@RsTrainsonYT9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Jeremy! I watched your video on all the cool different commands you can do conventionally with your RailKing transformer, unfortunately most of mine don't have a bell button and are a bit fluttery with the horn button, so I can't get too much out of them haha. I'll be looking for one of those RailKing Transformers since I hear a lot of positive things about them and they look nice and compact for their size!
@TooManyHobbiesJeremy9 ай бұрын
While I certainly love the MTH transformers - another solution is you can add a Lionel "Bell Button" to your setup and continue to use the transformers that you own.

It would be interesting to know the inspiration for this locos cool paint scheme, it feels so different compared to anything else out there! A bit retro looking, but still nice! Thanks for the comment!

Good catch Corey! That’s a really nice looking engine and it’s great to see regional equipment running!

Ed thank you my friend! It's always the local stuff that hits home with me, in this case being not too far at all haha. Although Lionel just came out with a loco that hits even closer to home, because this one I've worked on several times, including standing on top of!!

Thank you North Penn Valley! I haven't seen any of the PS2 RS3's so I don't quite know how well they compare functionality wise, but regardless they're still good quality trains!!

I couldn't be happier for you Corey! I knew you were a Battenkill RR fan after seeing you in a Ken Karlewicz video about the Battenkill. "Hey! I KNOW that guy!" A beautiful engine that's found a good home. Just so you know a lot of MTH RailKing diesels are actually made to scale, the price difference between RailKing and Premiere models is usually in the add-on details. That weekly KZbin video about new product you're thinking of might be "Toy Train Tips And Tricks." I'm a subscriber there and typically there's a weekly video of what's new in the hobby. A fun channel! Best of luck with that RS-3!

Thanks for the comment Wayne!! If I remember correctly I think you were one of the first commenters on Ken's video when it came out lol! It's such a lovely little railroad and has such a neat look to it that can make anyone fall in love with it. Toy Train Tips & Tricks was the channel I found it on, and now I'll make sure not to miss any news updates JUST IN CASE there's another Battenkill custom run haha. Have had great fun with it so far, it'll be on display for the first time publicly this Friday at my college campus so fingers crossed!

I dig it, Corey! I also just got one, the B&O RSD5 from METCA. Stu is making some great custom pieces for them! I have more coming in the future! Just be careful running modern engines with that ZW if you haven't already put fuses in that are better suited to the modern electronics. Replacing boards is not cheap or easy...

Pretty cool locomotive. I like the name Batten Kill. Also cool that you have seen the real one. Yes you never seen it run but it’s easier to stare down the details parked in a yard. I liked the video ehh.
@RsTrainsonYT9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Ken! The railroad name is after the local water way in Washington County named "Batten Kill", which the railroad crosses over several times on its branch line, although the trains have nothing to do with the water haha. Glad ya liked the video my friend!

Thanks for sharing ! A great layout, so fun to see what other folks are doing, nad sharing on Utube. All the custom runs from MTH are driving me crazy, cant keep up ! Did you try blowing into the smoke stack ? It may smoke even more after that.

Thanks for the comment! I usually blow down the stack after it has been running for a few minutes, but it does really well on its own! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Hey Corey I wonder if you’re going to be back at ALS 8/10/24 I had Richard Eriksen invite Colin ColinThePanAmerican. Colin said he might be able to go.

No way corey that is insane having a battenkill railroad as a model!! Is that factory painted or custom painted?
@RsTrainsonYT9 ай бұрын
Believe it or not Colin this is factory paint, first time any major model train manufacturer (to my knowledge) has produced a Battenkill locomotive (not counting the custom Atlas SNEX locomotives that are coming out soon), so this one is a real neat addition to the collection!!
@CamsTrains20147 ай бұрын

Railking scale? I'm reporting you to the Lionel police 😀😂 I think it has a DCC decoder onboard. Is the D&H the same size
@RsTrainsonYT9 ай бұрын
Both DCS and DCC William! The D&H RS3 besides the Battenkill one is actually a bit larger, as it is more "O Scale" since it is an Atlas product, compared to the O Gauge Battenkill RS3. The only thing off about the D&H one is the fact that the cab is a bit squatted, and should be a bit taller, besides that everything else looks perfect on it, just like the real Alcos.
