I have gone for the Ariya. My wife was not comfortable controlling everything through an offset screen was a major issue with the Tesla. Ride comfort and the quality of the cabin came down on the Nissan side too. Also (and this is very subjective) the look. The Tesla looks a bit bland in comparison. Also, Nissan dealers are everywhere and local to most people for servicing and any issues. Tesla centres are few and far between. Both good cars, and if it was just me I probably would have edged towards the Tesla, but the Ariya kept us both happy.

I have the Ariya Premiere, may actually be different, … I prefer the Nissan Display because it is NOT a tablet in the middle of the vehicle.
@bnwarner

I don’t plan on smuggling anyone internationally. No mention of Heads-up display, which is amazing. Android Auto has been be connected to one of the USB ports. This is an Android issue. My Premiere’s range is 289. Bottom line is it is strictly a personal choice. My nephew loves his Tesla. I love my Ariya Premiere. Both with an adapter and EVGo network support on Ariya, there may be a charger advantage on the road, but again, that will depend on where you live. I purchased my first EV in 2012 (Nissan LEAF). Haven’t visited a gas station in 12 years. Maintenance is pretty much tire rotation. The Ariya I purchased came with lifetime maintenance and a 10 year 100,000 year warranty.

I'm sorry but I was obvious that you like the Tesla more, so I don't think this was a fair comparison. For example you didn't mention the great HUD in Ariya. So much nitpicking was going on towards Ariya which didn't happen with Tesla. For me Ariya looks much better and is way more practical.

I’ve had an Ariya for seven months now. It’s been a great car. I get 3.9m/kWh over the summer months. Would I have another, yes, would I have a Tesla yes. I chose the Nissan because the dealer is close and convenient, which is a primary requirement for me.

The one take away i got from this video was that the Ariya can also fit 15 small boxes. I thought it would be less than the MY. The Ariya does not have a frunk but it has really roomy front floor. This allows me to put a dog bed on the front floor for my pooch to lay down next to me. Since owning the Ariya, I don't allow my dog to sit on my leather seats (light gray leather seats). It's really a bonus to have roomy front floor instead of a drunk. Most times, I lay my gym bag next to me too.

Ariya cabin is just a nicer place to be. Its amazing how far Nissan engineers went to make Ariya as quiet as possible. Everything that may make vibration or noise inside the cabin is wrapped or made of softer material. All around double pane glass. Tesla doesn't give you that.

Living in Brisbane, Australia, we found the Model Y glass roof to be a real drawback when we had our test drive. No way to close off the heat from the sun. Hi, great video! I have a 23’ model Y rwd and I agree with all your short comings of the Y. I’d also add that it can feel quite echoey inside, especially if you’re in the rear, although I run without a parcel shelf due to having a dog, I also have rubber mats in over the carpet ones. The firm ride also booms through the cabin a lot! Wouldn’t change it though.

I have a few friends that use move the center console back and then bring out the front storage compartment and use it for their laptop/chromebook/macbook stand and perform work in their vehicle from it. The HUD is also excellent and is much more in tune with the driver then always having to take your eyes off the road in order to see anything in the Tesla. The cooled seats are something you cannot live without once you have them, it’s so similar to heated seats or heated steering wheel. When in my friends Teslas on very hot sunny days we have all commented on why they do not have a cooled seat option after having been in several other cars that all have cooled and heated seats.

The design of the lights and front of the car is based off of traditional Japanese kumiko wood working The hidden compartment that uses the button to pull out is also useful to put your computer on it if you are working on the go, or taking some time while charging. Because of its flat top its not the most practical to just be a mechanical pull out. Its nice that its electrical. This is also your nice big storage area. It was moved from the console in the middle, to the front hidden pull out Platinum+ AWD is 0-60 in under 5 seconds. Something like 4.5 seconds

I don't understand the big draw of a frunk. To use the frunk you have to open the drivers door, hunt for the release in the footwell, walk around to the front and then realize that you had to pull the release lever twice. Compared to a powered lift gate. Push the button it opens, push the button and it closes. Easy.

The weak side of Aryia is its low top speed, it feels that its not made for long fast travels.. but for everyday family use the thing that would ultimately make Y the better choiche is cheaper charging. The main problem of Tesla Y is not practicality but missing radar and parking sensors. The Tesla Vision doesn't work correctly and can be dangerous... Family car without precise safety system is crap :-) For me the winner is commont ID4 or Mustang emach :-)

My 2023 USA Fremont Build Tesla Model Y long range AWD with its Panasonic 82KWH battery with 79KWH use-able would beat the Nissan, I sure do love this car it also charges noticeably faster than the LG 79KWH battery EU built Tesla Model Y long range AWD. I had a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Long Range AWD top trim I sold to buy my Tesla (7 months of no fast DC charging since delivery and 6 service trips to finally fix it) was enough for me sell it. Nice car but here in North America the other issue is CCS charging network totally sucks so that also was the other 50% reason I moved to a Tesla Model Y, Tesla only builds EVs so repairability is 200% better than the ICE trained Hyundai service techs (my long time for repair highlights that). I love your CCS2 charging infrastructure, look forward to a trip to Norway next year! l always stopping by on your channel! Thanks for the great content!!!

" Nice car but here in North America the other issue is CCS charging network totally sucks so that also was the other 50% reason I moved to a Tesla Model Y" I don't get it. CCS is the standard here in Europe. There might be a difference in CCS type? But Ariya can use the Tesla Network here in Europe

@@ravnOne65 Absolutely, we have the first version CCS (CCS1) which is far inferior to the EU's CCS2 standard which is functionally very different in our CCS1 has the locking mechanism on the Plug (which causes about 50% of all failures as people drop the plug and break the lock at many charge stations) while the EU CCS2 utilises the lock on the vehicle so so much better as the lock is protected in the Vehicles DC charge socket!

I want a Model Y but I’m worried I’ll miss the double screens of the S. Have you guys experienced any of the after market screens for the 3 and Y. Perhaps you can make a vid about testing some of them.

Was worried about that too, but as it turned out, don't miss a driver display. I actually find it easier to look to the side to check the speed than look through the steering wheel.

There are various aftermarket screens - or even a mount to turn your phone into a screen behind the wheel. But I wouldn't bother with any of them tbh

I must of missed previous vlog. Going to watch it now. Couple of my delivery customers have the Nissan and gotta say it’s a mahoosive brick. Is it essentially the same as the meganne E. ? I’ve not seen one of those as yet. Also is the Nissan battery actively cooled in this ? Great vlog and how on earth did Mark get in the under the floor in the Tesla. Omg ! Best wishes

You haven’t experienced the standard in EV ride quality and cabin comfort (get the cloth interior), until you’ve driven an F150 Lightning. It floats along the highway like a StarWars Landspeeder, and it’s quicker. There’s no substitute for cubic feet of cabin, for spacious comfort and cathedral audio system acoustics. True luxury, imho. A rolling salon.

Sat in one, loved it, but alas I doubt we’ll ever see it for sale here in the UK. It’s simply too big for our roads and car parks etc

@@RSEV F150 Lightning is 1 inch narrower than RR Ghost (though 14 inches longer, than non-extended RR G). A driver becomes quickly accustomed to the size of the Lightning, especially aided by multiple camera views (including 360deg birdseye) for close maneuvering. Next time in USA, you really must give it a try (I believe Euro deliveries start soon).

What’s the point of a car that you can’t do a long trip in. The Tesla supercharger network means there is only one choice. Plus the software of the Tesla is way better. The Tesla is way quicker and the audio system amazing. It’s just not a competition.
