For the San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin area she's actually quite average. :)Everything is bigger (and better) in Texas! It's also funny that people find the need to comment about her weight as if she cares. She is always making fun of herself, lol.

No but getting inraged by a person, who wasnt even talking to you in the first place, about a comment I made based on a fact i heard about that protained to a topic that the people in this podcast brought up, which was pornstars, is. Now im gonna say this as politely as I can because I'm so sick and tired of people harking on me on here for my opinions and for comments that werent about them. This comment wasnt made to make fun of anyone it was to point out the differences between people who are on tv or the radio constantly and how they choose to dress at a formal occasion and how people who work in a profession deemed raunchy, disgusting and degrading to women everywhere dress in their formal situation. Now im going to stop here before I say something thats rather rude because I want to keep this clean

One of the easiest ways to tell that a white person doesn't take racism seriously is when they make up terms like "eyeism" to dismiss someone's claim that something is racist. And I know that everyone on this podcast is a good person and that none of them are racist, but white people don't get to just outright dismiss something as "not racist," because we don't suffer from racism. We benefit from it, whether we want to or not. That's not to say that that person painting herself darker to look like a certain character is racist. Emulating a POC character is a long way off from blackface, and people on the internet love to become offended on behalf of others. But if you're white and a person of color says to you "that's racist," instead of dismissing it immediately and being like "you're crazy stop being so offended" (because it's very condescending), try actually hearing them out. Let them explain to you why it bothers them on a personal level, and recognize that white people are not experts on everything and that sometimes a person who is offended actually has the right to be.

+Jeremie May The problem is, the only people complaining about the "racism" are also white. So it's just an outrage and outrage invalidation circlejerk
@michelledang6834
@michelledang6834 9 жыл бұрын
+RedRoseAkabara84 The thing is, that a white person does not get to dictate what is racist or not if they are not the group that the act is directed act. If a black person sees something as racist because it feels like it's mocking their culture, then they get to define it a racist towards them. Of course not every individual of that group is going to see it as such, and everyone has their own opinion. Just like a person of a particular European group can say they find something offensive towards them. We should not dismiss the concerns of one group if they feel something is perpetuating prejudice attitudes. And even if something was done without the intent to harm, does not mean that it didn't harm.

Ashley has mentioned that, even though youtube comments are generally hateful trash, they still read them because feedback from the community is important. Props to them for not literally hating their community. It's a bummer that members of the community are the ones that alienate other viewers and ultimately keeping them from wanting to participate.

I just want to address the topic of the kid who brought the clock to school. Until you've seen the clock, don't judge the reaction of the teacher. The clock was extremely rudementary. With it being in a briefcase, having all of the wiring exposed, and no outer cover, the thing resembled a bomb much more than a clock. There were some things in the ensuing investigation that did not make me happy, but I can't fault the teacher for reacting the way they did.

I'm pretty sure it was a briefcase and I agree it look suspicious but it doesn't take an engineer or an inventor to look at it and say 'Oh. That's not a bomb'.

+Liam7391 I don't understand why everyone is making a big deal about this. The kid wasn't charged with anything, and I honestly doubt it had anything to do with race (If I'm mistaken please correct me). My highschool doesn't allow props or replicas that look like weapons. If I brought in a fake sword for a drama class that day and I didn't inform anyone except my drama teacher, I would probably be getting suspended or sent to the police station for bringing a weapon to school, even though it isn't.

Yeah but think, if there was a bomb, you wouldn't call the police you would call the bomb squad. If there was a bomb you would evacuate the school. If there was a bomb you would not sit them in a room on there own with it! I don't think they thought it was a bomb.

ok like.... i get that she didn't want to be offensive by putting on makeup to look like a dark skinned person, but skin colour isn't a costume and there's a very long history of people putting on makeup to look like dark skinned people for entertainment purposes, to the detriment of black and brown people. it's not outrage, it's genuine hurt. also there's no comparison to be made between skin colour and coloured eye contacts - there's no history of discrimination based on eye colour the way there is with race. a lot of what privileged people deem "outrage culture" is marginalized people who now have the opportunity to be heard, who aren't necessarily angry or righteously outraged, but who are expressing their hurt and frustration. skin colour isn't a costume. i really love rooster teeth and all of you ladies, but it's honestly rly tough to watch 4 white people talk about how it's not a big deal for a white person to darken her skin when you have no way of knowing what it's like to be on the other side of that. this isn't outrage. this is hurt.

Quick tips for people that get confused with "foreign" words, the little 'S' under 'Ç' means it sounds like an 'S', and accents like 'Í' or 'Ê' usually means that it's the "emphasized" letter or syllable. So, nice job saying 'açaí' Ashley, sounded pretty natural.

+Jyoji Fee I'm black. So tell me: why is it inherently offensive if the intend is only to look like an ACTUAL person and not to mock black people by using exaggerated body features (e.g. literally black skin, big red lip). There is nothing logical about being upset about something like that.

+Jyoji Fee It's really hard to watch. It's almost like people like to forget that history is a thing that has an impact on how people are treated today. They also seem to love to equate situations that are not even close to equal. People getting upset about a black woman cosplaying as a white character is racist and there's always going to be issues with fair skinned people imitating others of a darker skin tone because of the history of dehumanizing people of colour but I guess that would require actually asking and caring about why some people might be upset. *shrugs*
@Alex_Johnson_
@Alex_Johnson_ 9 жыл бұрын
RileyHuey16 You doubt i'm black based off what? Because I don't share your views? Also, nothing you have said has answered my question. What exactly makes coloring your skin a darker tone racist, dispite context and intent? How is any act, done without malice that literally affects no one's life, somehow an act of racism? Because in the past people did a similar act with malice and the intent to insult and demean a particular group of people? Please explain that logic to me.
