Chris's explanation of Gandhi's aggression in Civ I is surprisingly correct. It's a problem called data underflow, wherein you lower a given amount under the minimum value and, given it has nowhere else to go from there, it sort of 'wraps around' back to the maximum value. What Chris described is the functional opposite, data overflow, but he also used the syntactical opposite of the value in question (he called it the "peace level", when in the real game it's the "aggression level"), so his explanation shows a fair understanding of the concept. Because Gandhi's standard aggression level was so low, you could decrease it via in-game actions past the minimum over the course of a game, so he would typically get _really_ aggressive around the time everyone started getting nuclear weaponry.
