As a hunter in Georgia I can tell you that the reason the hunters didn't leave the stand was because once a deer had been fatally wounded you need to let it die before chasing it or ending it because as you get closer it'll freak out and run and put it through more pain as apposed to just letting it bleed out (1:01:27)

A lot of high rises (depending on the height of the building) will have mechanical floors halfway up that only allow staff. I doubt they would leave a floor empty for the sake of bad luck. It's probably being used, just not for customers. 2 floors is also not uncommon especially at the top of a high rise in the penthouse. My favorite Comic-Con trailer hands down was Ready Player One. It doesn't give you any real sense of what the story is, but just being able to see that they can get all these pop culture icons and more is really exciting. Also I just get chills seeing the Iron Giant again.

Not sure about condos and other high rise buildings, but most hotels with more than 13 floors use the 13th floor for storage for housekeeping and maintenance, and is accessible either by keycard or by holding the floor 12 and 14 buttons at the same time. Both shots where done in a school in Quebec that's why the exit signs say sortie even in the English version.
