Actually ridiculous how complicated this is for a BOILER, I'm just wondering how old people would understand this thing, most of them would have no chance

NONE!.... It's ridiculous.

Absolutely. I have to look this up every 6 months. Just so stupid.

I strongly agree with you and it’s not just the elderly that would have an issue with this. I’m young, tech savvy and I still struggle with this. Pffffttt

Absolutely ridiculous that we need to come here to find out how to switch the heating off when we don't need it on. This should have been on the instruction leaflet.

This is much clearer than the written instructions. I’m glad that you posted it.

Moved into a house with this. Couldn't get it to work until I worked out it wasn't synced or programmed. This video is essential for the unit to be operated by a human being

I have bought a house with a Salus thermostat but had I known it would have been enough to stop me buying it! This has to be the most complicated system on the market. I will make sure I tell everybody to stay well clear of it. I am now reduced to turning the boiler on every morning and off every night manually. I have had no luck finding anybody to come and programme it for me. Totally useless. Terry Russell

I'm a time served electronics technician, and find this controller an absolute nightmare to try and set up. Now I know why my boiler installer didn't do it. Going to revert to a conventional digital timer, and conventional remote thermostat.

My modus operandi is to first make a hard copy of the proposed schedule. Having to stop and think for more than 10 secs means you have to restart, although you won't lose the settings you've already stored. I first switch the boiler off at the mains as it can be distracting if it starts cutting in while inputting figures. (It will automatically pair up within 30 secs when back on.) To avoid confusing myself I use all six settings. Once the 6 are input I go through them all again to double check. To avoid wasting heat (and money) set the temp low for times when u might not be home. You can always override it when back in, or put on an additional room heater.

I'm not sure if you see it but if you do please reply as I need a help for someone more clever than me. How do I set this thing up to only put heating on 2 times a day (morning and late afternoon)? I'm to stupid for this...
@janicewatts58882 жыл бұрын
@@eovina91I'm assuming you want to set the boiler to come on using the timer. You MUST use ALL six programs for the day. Select a suitably low temp for the periods you don't want any heat on. Alternatively to control the temp manually, press the hand symbol left of display,(hand will appear on screen, program number is not displayed) Press the up/down symbols on the right of the display to select required temp Press hand symbol again to revert to programs.

i agree with the other comments. my advise is to leave well alone it is an absolute nightmare to set and is the most complicated thermostat i have come across. you have been warned
@carolynmartell23342 ай бұрын
This thermostat is the bane of my life. We spent all that money on a new combi boiler only to struggle to stay warm because the thermostat is total rubbish. Impossible to set the timer and the thing has a mind of its own, setting itself to 21 degrees when I’ve set it at 18 and then not even switching off when the batteries are removed.
@k15412 жыл бұрын
Can anyone advise how you just use this as and when you want it on? I'm used to the very old dials just used to switch it on/off when needed I don't want all this set times and dates

Literally just use the arrows to go up to desired temperature and press tick button straight away. You should see a flare icon on the right side of the screen

What if the Salus hermostat doesn't show the 5:2 option? This video does not show how to bring up the 5:2 vs single day options to select.
@David-zo7fb3 жыл бұрын
On the back of the unit behind a panel are to micro switches, number one needs to be set to "on" for single day.

I’ve had 3 boiler engineers out over the years and they have all said Salus are crap and I agree. Don’t understand the bloody thing at all!

I've set my temperatures and its meant to be 10 degrees all day until this evening.. So can somebody tell me why it's saying 22 degrees now and 23 earlier.. It has its own programme here.. Don't know how to stop it.. Also my electricity bill is £167..wtf!!

Absolute rubbish. The most complicated controller ever
@geerkotocave45542 жыл бұрын
I like simplicity of it : no hidden menus when holding buttons for certain amount of time opens up , just set and select with arrows for values . Way simpler than some floor heating controllers
@doctor74912 жыл бұрын
When do you get to the bit about syncing to the boiler? This isn't in the written instructions. Stupid videos for this sort of thing are not a good as written instructions!
