Thanks, nut. Just saw your post. The paddle makes a "clapper" hit the bell every swing extreme. Part must not have been lubricated enough or the clapper mechanism simply cracked and broke. Maybe the track detection is being shorted by conduction through moist pavement. That should be solved.

That is a type of wig wag that my father said used to be at the RR crossings in my home town. Dad said they replaced them in the 1960's with regular signals. Nice to see that there are still a few around.

Good example of a workaround for a failed striker on the Magnetic Flagman---NOS striker parts are probably REALLY hard to find now, after being out of production for decades.

Colton Where? Nice to see a wig wag! Matt

Yes. They are much louder and more reliable. Did they remove the wig-wag bell? I would have left it in place with that added bell also sounding.

Lived a stones throw from a Wig-Wag signal in Banning 20 miles West of Palm Springs. One of the first purchases for my HO layout was a Wig-Wag non operating signal. I recreated the RR crossing by the house & the SP depot across the tracks. Wouldn't be authentic w/o those Wig-Wags.

Bad signal, bad signal - for not shuting off. Must be crossing circuit problem. They use other crossing bell. Wigwag's bells removed?
