I agree. I had to tune myself out a couple times because he was honestly getting on my nerves with it. I found it a little funny the first couple times he did it, but it quickly got repetitive and kept taking me out of the game. Like, I get the soundboard is a feature in the game, but he doesn’t have to abuse it. I don’t know if he was just bored/uninterested and trying too hard to be funny for chat, or if he was actually creeped out and using it as a way to get himself through the game. I also wasn’t a fan of him repeatedly playing happy music in the background every time there was any tension built up. It completely ruined the atmosphere the game was going for. A huge part of horror games is a build up in suspense that keeps you on edge the whole time, otherwise the horror game will probably rely too heavily on instant, desensitizing things like jump scares to scare you with, and shouldn’t be the only thing a horror game has to offer imo. So, I just don’t know why Dan bothers playing horror/thrillers games if he can’t tolerate even the slightest feeling of uneasiness without offsetting the mood, or completely avoiding ‘the scary thing’ altogether (if the game lets him). I’m honestly not trying to be rude and pick on Dan, though I wish he would have tried to focus a little more, and not been as silly and distracting as he was being. I’m not saying he can’t have fun and be silly at times, but this was my first experience with this game, and he kind of ruined it all the extra added cheerful music and sound board overuse. It’s my only slight personal criticism of how he played. So don’t kill me folks! I know he can play how he wants. 😂 All I’m saying, is that it would have made for a much more positive experience for myself as a viewer, if he eased off on that stuff a bit. 😅
