So spoiler below I looked it up on Wikipedia and there is only one ending RTgame missed: the true ending that explains all this. None of the game is real, it’s all in the “husband”’s imagination. The present is actually the “back in time” scene, and the whole game is the main character imagining a happy life with his sister. The “cop” is the character in the main character’s imagination who represents his father’s desire to interfere with his plans. This is why William Defoe voices both the father and the “cop” The time loop happens because he keeps trying to think of new ways that their perfect life can remain perfect. In the true ending, you stare at the clock after reciting that passage (the one about forgetting allowing you to live in the present ;) ) and the father tells you that you have a remarkable imagination, but “believing them so strongly, so deeply, is unhealthy. You have to let her go. You can’t keep obsessing over her. Sometimes things just are the way they are. It’s time for you to wake up”. By doing this, you forget her and move on, and don’t return to your fantasies. You can’t continue the game, you can only look at the game options or leave to your desktop.

This game is so eerie that I might not be able to get to sleep easily. Like nothing is scary its just the idea of living everyday over and over with these crazy plot twists and fearing that ur wife/sister and you are gonna die. Like none of the violence is even that bad, it just gives the vibe of a creepy story.

And he somehow managed to find her in a different city with his mind wiped? And there’s still the question of why the ‘cop’ and the father were done by the same actor. I strongly doubt it was just being cheap about the actor, not after all that effort in the game. Fascinating. Personally I think he’s sick in the head and imagined most of that back story.

I don't think she was pregnant eight years ago. I think that because the main character is reliving 10 minutes of the time the cop went to "kill" his wife and the two minutes of him killing her dad, he confuses the past and the present. He says she's pregnant because in the present she is, but eight years ago she wasn't, he had barely just met her.

SPOILERS BELOW It's definitely all in his head. The father confirms this in the one ending RT didn't get, the hardest to get. To get that ending, you have to stall for time and wait to look at the book until he says "Say something!", then stare at the clock until time runs out. After that, he'll tell you that you "have quite the imagination" but that you need to learn to let go. This is the true final ending, because after you get it the continue button disappears, finally breaking the loop.

This game had so much potential... about making a decision. But imagine you're told to choose between a world you see and one you don't see where the one you see clearly has some good things. We needed the alternate timeline to make choices... otherwise it can be summed up as simply "Give up" A cool concept but otherwise it lacks the meat and strength to carry it.

This looks fun just watching as a stream archive but I get the feeling most of the sales are going to come from people who don't play videogames. It's an interactive movie. A good one, but still basically a choose-your-own-adventure. Hopefully it does well enough that Luis can keep making them and not get thrown to the wolves - never forget what happened to Telltale Games.

I wouldn't even say a good one, as a good one would've explored the alternate timeline before the protagonists decides which would be best. For the narrative it went for you need 2 worlds to justify decisions... otherwise it is just a simple "Say no give up." for the entire plot. Decent maybe, filled with potential but falls short.

I dont know why people are labeling these kind of games a "non-game", 12 Minutes is basically the old point and click games recreated with 3d engine with some famous voice actor doing the character. It might not revolutionized anything in their genre but its a nice throwback of what small games used to be. The game is basically a puzzle game, with a nice story woven into the puzzle. Also this game differ from any of the teltalle game by not promising that "your action have consequences even though it will only change 1 minor thing in the story" It just put you right into the action and let you roam and explore the possibilities. I really like the twist at the end, it punches you in the face after all the nice thing you experience as the main character.
