Because it was brought up about Manfred von Karma: While none of the games ever actually tell his fate after the end of AA1 it's heavily implied that he did in fact commit suicide shortly after we last saw him. This would explain why people still hold Manfred von Karma in such high regard despite of everything that we know for sure he did, because he seemingly took his own life before any charges could be made against him. As silly as this might sound, from a legal perspective, Manfred stayed completly innocent and his legacy as an unbeatable prosecutor (until his match with Phoenix) stayed intact because he was never convicted for any crimes. This also led to the situation in which von Karmas entire career could als never be put under scrutiny, because, again, from a legal point of view, there was no reason to question anything he did as a prosecutor. The prosecutors office also had no reason to investigate further because if they did they would've opened pandoras box with a PR nightmare as cherry on top of it. No joke here, but if a prosecutor with this kind of a long career, who seemingly never has lost a single trial, would suddenly be revealed to be corrupt and highly criminal the prosecutors office would face hell on earth, because every single case Manfred worked on would actually need to be re-evaluated to see if he played foul with them as well. Mind you, in the AA universe, cases take maybe 1-3 days max and von Karma won most of his in one single day. Just make the math to find how many cases he potentially handled because of that system and you will shortly find out what a gigantic mess this would be because of how many cases he probably worked on during his lifetime. No prosecutors office on earth could handle this while also doing their regular work. They would need to establish a seperate office which only deals with von Karmas cases and deal with the fallout which should take decades even in the AA legal world. That's why the prosecutors office did nothing about von Karmas deeds after he was gone, plus (and thats highly likely the real reason it was done this way) the writers wouldn't have to deal with a prosecutors office being in absolute turmoil after the end of AA1. However, the series didn't forget this plot either. One of the spin-off game were we play Miles instead of Phoenix in fact deals with the consequences of this whole mess, but I won't go into details for that to avoid spoilers if RT ever decides to also tackle those games. To make a long story short: While never confirmed the game heavily implies Manfred Von Karma took his own life before he could be brought to court for his crimes to preserve his legacy in his last moments.

Thing is, the game even acknowledges this by Phoenix's pained annoyance at most of the characters, more particularly Moe. There were probably too many times our poor lawyer just wanted to say "good luck with a public defender" and walk away. That being said, watch the anime's version of this case. It's legitimately good and the characters are much better. Also, Franziska shuts Moe up several times in that!

The saddest thing about Turnaround Big Top is that its storyline (the backstory for the events and how characters then grow after it) is pretty good itself. It is rather tragic story about people making horrible mistakes and having to face the consequences. What makes the case annoying is that the characters related to the case are all pretty annoying, other than (spoilers), the love triangle and overall people drooling over 16 year old girl who acts like child is just nasty, and some of the court mechanics are just painfully frustrating. Like yeah it is pretty much the worst case of the series, but its main storyline isn't all that awful.

Alright I'm gonna step in here to say, I love 2-3 as a case, is it insane, ridiculous, and goofy, yes and it knows that, it's set in a circus, people tend to get hung up on that one part towards the end where something comes out of nowhere, but the game specifically instructs you on the solution, and that solution ridiculous as it is, fits with the entire tone. Beyond the goofs though is an emotional core, a tragedy. And that's why I think while it's definitely not the best case, it may be the most ace attorney case of them all.
