Dan kept asking this so I’ll answer it here for others who are curious. Why did they remove the ability to run? It’s because players were always running in the stick of truth. So, they removed the ability to run in the Fractured but Whole and upped the default speed. Dan, and many others including me, believe this is a mistake.

(Edit: No, I did the math completely wrong, it's 30+ hours INCLUDING DLC, and the base game is only at most 18 hours, I looked at my save files again and the longest I ever took for only base game was only like 18½ hours) I hope someone lets him know that this game is 30+ hours long, not including DLC. But hey, that just means we get more streams! The past two streams have been 5-6 hours long, so we're looking at somewhere around 5 or 6 streams for just the base game. My calculations for the game's length could be wrong, though, I'm going off my multiple different save games, and all except one of them I actually knew what I was doing so I could go faster, so it might even take him around 35+ hours

Sometimes, I think games need a mechanic where you can just freshen up on mechanics of the game, and like, have little verbal tooltips for them baked into the game, outside of the tutorial, like towelie, but baked in. Maybe if they pass by the same thing out in the world they *can* do, but just forgot how to do it, then tell them. cus it's REALLY tiring to have to watch them pass the *same thing* out in the world ten to twenty times going "How do I do this, or get that?" when they've already been tutorialized on it.

So yes, there's a difference and you're just wrong, doing a "nerd voice" because you dislike and don't understand what someone said doesn't make you right. Also "mind control" is literally longer than "confusion" as a word, so it's not a "short hand".

@@TheGodIvy In Stick of Truth, you could walk on the side walks freely. In this one, there are pointless barriers everywhere that forces you to take the long way round to reach accessible places, forcing the player to use fast travel and walk alllll the way back to their destination.

​@@scrittlebarriers that sorta serve as foreshadowing to what powers you can do, and you can delete all of those barriers when you get those powers. Same thing in the previous game with the rat walls that you needed a special fart power for. I fail to see the issue

@@TheGodIvyI think it’s more that this game creates barriers to both lock areas and block shortcuts. The stick of truth only used it to lock areas as far as I can remember. It is just unnecessary inconvenience to make the player walk for an extra couple of minutes around a barrier to get to a place they are fully able to access.

​@@cahan557well my excuse is that it has to be different enough from the first game, so you cant freely traverse until you get those abilities. Also shows you how many situations those abilities can work in, so you know for other places. And once again, this was in the previous game. Some places had the rat walls, some had the alien probe thing, and some you needed to shrink for. Also gonna point out that it shows on the map where you cant go (like the lava next to Tokens house) so you dont make the mistake that Dan did and try to fast travel on the other side of it. Maybe this is just me making weird excuses, but i still fail to see a problem. Yes its annoying when you find it at first, but after that you just remember, and know not to go there until you can get rid of that obstacle

I realize I'm late to the game, but if anyone is wondering the reason why Moses says the thing about debts and slaves is because the ability is jubilee and that's what it traditionally was -- that all debts were forgiven and slaves were free. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jubilee As that wikipedia article notes a jubilee means something different in other traditions.
