I think most people prefer original mostly because it felt more original and proper tribute to fans with more details to easter eggs. And most of all it didn't feel like Ubisoft had its hands over it with some very obvious annoying content thrown in. Though I personally did enjoy how the costumes were just props and no longer gear. So gave you free reign to play however wanted to look instead of being forced to wear the same gear every time.

I really love the first phase of the final boss story-wise, which is why it’s a shame they had to abandon it for the second. The first phase has you fighting cartman because cartman might just be making Mitch Connor up, while also fighting Kyle because he might just be real. I love the mental minigames between cartman and Kyle, which is why it sucks they drop that for the “oh they’re both Mitch so you can beat them both up” throws option 2’s reasoning as to why you’re attacking Kyle out the window, because technically not only is option 1’s logical solution to attack cartman, but option 2’s is as well. So by the end it takes a lot of suspension of disbelief on why the hell you’re attacking Kyle.
