1:08:20 I genuinely felt a sense of sorrow when the comment came up about your streams being exhausting. Because of your slowness and authentically great personality; watching your content (live or not) is my main form of rest and entertainment. Even right now, I'm watching this VOD before I fall asleep (as I do everyday). I'm sorry for the ridiculous and confusing ways that people can be. I really hope that you are able to do whatever is the most peaceful for you Dan. You deserve to experience the deep enjoyment of your content as you create it. And, I hope that this community can only make that easier for you. Much love!

I agree with you on how his streams are entertaining but are still quite calming, as I also try watching his full streams here on youtube to try and fall asleep and it also helps my adhd bc it's still engaging enough that my brain can relax because it's still focused on something. I watched this stream live for a bit, up until that comment (I had to leave around that bit due to dinner being ready) and it saddens me too due to the fact that I watch these to bring myself joy and I know a lot of other people do too. I even sat through all the Hollow Knight stream VODs (if you're not aware, they're about 8-9 hours long) because I enjoy watching RT play games. It also annoys me how people don't know RT streams and does longer content, because it is fairly obviously stated in the highlights

4:51:00 well my hypothesis is that the setting (being a comedic entertainment stream) and both the cadence and vowels in Ohio are the reason for this. Trisyllabic words with O vowel sounds tend to sound more humorous than other words. For example, potato, Kokomo, or even disyllabic like hobo. In addition Ohio doesn’t have any other real associations with it other than being a place unlike Tokyo, which has a non comedic association already in place. Long story short, the fact the environment is light and comedic, combined with the fact that Ohio sounds funny and isn’t associated with anything else is the reason that it specifically is a place that fans have latched onto as a joke.

2:01:36 No, see, mario is satan, because lucifer is "lightbringer" and Mario brings the sunshine in Mario sunshine and bowser's fury. This means bowser, the stronger one that eternally fights Satan, is actually the archangel Michael, who is destined to defeat mario/satan some day. Then again, michaelbis told to fight "The Dragon" sometimes, so that may make mario the archangel michael. This theology implies that Luigi is an archangel, perhaps Gabriel, and Raphael, whose name means "god will heal" is perhaps princess peach? This would make the mushroom kingdom the host of heaven, and the toads are cherubim.

I love all the forms of your content. From the Vod I get to see the context of the jokes from the highlights. When I’m able to join your livestreams I get to interact and read your chat. And if I’m not super interested in a game, I get to watch the highlights to see the jokes and if I’ll actually like the game! Not every streamer goes through the effort of having so many different ways to consume their content. I know this is wayyy after the fact, but I wanna add my two cents of support to ya. You are one of my comfort creators in the sense I know I’m always in the mood for your content. Thank you for putting so much effort and love into this job. EDIT: I also think it’s prudent to point out that many “fans” forget there is a real human behind the videos and gaming. With more and more content creators popping up, many fans become less empathetic and view you (all creators) as commodities, services, as only something to consume. (The person who said “you’re still on this?” Displays that.) I hope you take care of yourself and know that you’ve got lots of support and love.

If I ever get streamed out and want to leave, or I'm busy and catch catch it live, I appreciate that you ALWAYS upload the stream to this archive channel so if I want to watch every minute or see something I missed, I know I can just catch up later. Plus the highlight vids are great for games I maybe don't want to see all the way through, but want just a snippet of. Plus the longer streams are nice bc they give more people the opportunity to pop in and out and be able to be a part of the little community you've got set up, there's definitely some TOXIC streaming communities out there and I appreciate how you've pretty solidly kept yours very civil, honestly seeing chat react is the main reason I try to catch streams live if I can. Keep doing what you're doing, and don't let the negatives get you down for long (I know it's hard, especially in the heat of the moment, to follow the advice of don't let it get you down, but just so long as you don't internalize it and start believing it). 4:54:44 I mean, there's Des Moines, (That's pronounced 'Da-moyn') which is the Insurance Capital of the world, housing the headquarters for several insurance companies. We've got plenty of cornfields, and Iowa is where "Field of dreams" is set, and we do in fact have an old rundown baseball field by some cornfields. There's this guy in south des moines (Once again, Da-moyn) that sells fresh corn on the cob all summer long by a dairy queen ice cream place. There's this world-famous barbecue place called Jethro's that makes this MASSIVE pulled-pork sandwich called The Eminecker, and has GREAT pork. There's a Spam factory and museum, and Maytag Blue Cheese is made in Iowa. There's a really good ice cream place called "The Outside Scoop" in indianola(south of des moines) and a famous italian pasta resteraunt called Baratta's in des moines. That's most of it, though, and the vast majority of the state is corn or open fields. Lots of hills. Sometimes you lose cell reception at the bottom of the hills and it cuts off your call while you're driving. Nice place, good food in des moines, best corn on the cob you'll get probably. But watch out for the tree-bears in wesley woods, they like to run up behind you and pull your leg. Nasty buggers.

But really, don't let that stuff get to you. People who constantly ask for more on youtube are like people who ask what game you're playing on twitch without looking at the title

See, up until recently I wasn't a big fan of streams in general. The edited highlights were more what I watched simply because I needed something very fast and engaging to watch when I watched on KZbin, and I struggled to watch any sort of... longer content in general, but after your edited Galaxy streams, I found I enjoyed the longer and more chill things so I went and watched the full videos of the streams and I've been starting to do that more. I definitely have to be in the right sort of mood for it, but I appreciate it regardless. Keep doing you, your content is great. The people who enjoy it will find it, and people who complain only bring the community down

I love your streams and your videos, people come to both of them for you. If someone feels exhausted, or doesn’t have the time to watch your content, or wants a different kind of content, or thinks you could do something different, if they aren’t being constructive in their criticism and just saying negative things, try to ignore them the best you can. If someone doesn’t like your stuff, it’s not your problem. When people say the content creators they watch are bad or not to their taste, why are they there? Haha The relationship between a creator and their audience is one of balance and giving on both ends in my opinion. So if someone criticizes a creators content in such a drastic way that it leaves the mind set of both the majority audience and the creators intent, then that criticism doesn’t usually need to be taken into account. People should come to a creator for the person, not to ask for what content they want. They should just find another creator who they will like, instead of potentially hurting someone who they don’t even want to watch, it makes no sense.

I love watching the streams for games I love/have played (like I watched the three streams for Super Paper Mario), but most of the time I just watch highlights. It really just depends on the game/how much time I have, but as long as you’re having fun then I’ll have fun watching. Just keep being amazing!

It's crazy how much twitch chat differs from ppl that comment on KZbin. You see dan get sm support here, and then when you watch the VOD, twitch chat brings down his mood in almost every stream

i think it's less twitch chat and more "that one dude in twitch chat who stands out simply because they're being negative"

I fudging love your streams! I wish I could actually watch them live. I love all of this and I wish your streams were longing. The person who said that is mean and you’re doing great. This is amazing content and I watch every stream you have

Hey Dan, I've loved your content for years now, and thoroughly enjoy all of it, I'm sorry that guys comment got to you, some people just suck. In terms of preferred content I personally prefer anything on KZbin, mainly because I can go back and rewatch something I missed and that helps when my auditory processing ducks up. Keep making the content you want, I'm sure to be here for many more years to come

I personally prefer the KZbin platform because of how I’m used to it, please keep doing what you’re doing on twitch I enjoy it.

Ok, so "Corn Con" is either an Iowain cyber security conference or an Ohioain cult founded by chat's grandfather. Or both, I vote both.

Why watch his streams if they're "exhausting"? What the fuck? He didn't deserve that comment, and honestly his streams have helped me get through some really hard stuff
@elviso.o3 жыл бұрын
late, but that one comment was honestly just rude? i can't even really see a way that calling someone's streams "exhausting" was with any good intention :// but anyways, dan if you ever read this: both your streams and highlights are amazing. for me at least, the highlights are lovely because it's shorter than a full stream, and streams are nice to watch when i want to grind in a game or do another task that'll last a while. i almost never have the time to actually watch any of the streams live anymore sadly, but on the rare occasion i do get to they're always amazing. you're just a lovely person to vibe with (if that makes sense) and no matter what is happening on screen it's always interesting. i'm sorry someone felt the need to say that; your streams are never exhausting in the slightest ://

I never get time to see the streams live, and while yes the high lights are wonderful there just something about getting to see the whole stream that makes me happy. I like playing different video games with him playing whatever, and it nice like having a friend just chatting with you while you two hang out.

FINALLY someone else who also does Not Like spaghetti. i like penne and shells! i love rotini and elbows! i loooove tortellini and fettuccine! but spaghetti and angel hair can git fxcked HAHA ever since discovering i'm gluten intolerant, my pasta selection has been so depressing. haven't found GF tortellini or fettuccine or shells. at least there's penne, elbows and rotini. (and of course there's spaghetti.) i hope somebody makes GF tortellini and/or fettuccine sometime soon. // I'm not a huge stream person -- i don't usually have the time or mental capacity to watch one thing for long periods of time. but every once in a while (like right now) I'll put on a vod in the background. I absolutely love RT's streams. He's a great presence! The idea that I don't like streams is 100% on my end; it's absolutely nothing on RT. Livestreams aren't for everyone, that's all. But I support him in the way that work for me! also bruh the negative stream comment..... while they're at the stream.... huh ???? you don't have to be here?? just. Leave?? then ??? if you don't like it??

I don't often catch streams sadly but I find VODS far more relaxing than highlight clips though I enjoy those too. Having long streams is also great because that way people get a chance to actually watch some when their timezone/ schedule isn't matching start time!

I and probably everyone felt so awkward that one guy said his streams were exhausting compared to his highlights. Not to mention a dumb thing to say. Even if they didn't mean what they said an a bad way. If we felt broken it must've hit dan harder for being the one reading the comment aiming at him. Not to mention afterwards some people were adding on to the annoyance. They're highlights for a reason. I myself enjoy every second spending half my day watching the full thing.
@JordanWeberMusic3 жыл бұрын
I know I’m late to the party, but hopping in on the discussion, I prefer an abridged video such as the highlights then if I want more, I come here to the VODs. For me, if I am not physically participating in the stream, it’s just not my thing. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love RT’s content, but there are very few streamers that I watch full VODs for. A 6 hour stream can be a task a bit too large to conquer, so a 1 hour version feels more manageable and something I can knock out easier, so that’s more appealing to me.

Dan I know that you'll probably never see this but i wanna say that id love to catch a live stream but im never able to due to work. I always wanted to see your actual stream vods but i didn't know you had this channel. your content is always a great part of my day be it in short or long form.

They broke Dan with that comment... I love his streams so much. I normally watch on here because the streams i normally miss or cant make. I love your streams so much Dan. I just wanna give you a hug Dan. It's ok. Your content is amazing keep doing your streams. Your streams are NOT exhausting. I watched your ENTIRE SUPER MARIO GALAXY 1 AND 2 and I loved it so much. I plan to watch this one with just as much love and enthusiasm. You are awesome Dan. 🥺❤❤🙂

Hey, I’m nine months late to respond to this (I only recently just found your videos!) but I’d like to say this- I only verrry rarely go on twitch because I always feel the need to be very active in chat and stuff (I feel weirdly guilty just lurking?) but the whole reason I watch these type of videos is to have company while I play games myself! Plus my schedule is ALL over the place, so I don’t really get to watch multiple days in a row, or during a time that my favorite steamers are live. So I super appreciate those who do go on twitch and hang out live! Having that interaction between a streamer and the chat keeps things interesting! I’d be sad if you stopped streaming over there, even if my reasoning is a little weird.
