Stop Android from Draining Car Battery | Disable Android Head Unit Sleep Mode

This video explains how one can stop Android from draining car battery. By default your Car Android Heads Unit comes with option sleep mode enabled, which switches your Android Head Unit to Sleep Mode when acc off. The benefit of switching your Android Head Unit to Sleep mode is that when you turn your Car ACC ON you get the screen instantly of your Android Head Unit without waiting for its boot. But this consumes lot of your card battery when your car is not in use, which can in turn drain your card battery quickly in a long run. So to avoid such situation we have a quick fix for your Android which shutdowns your Android Head Unit completely when you turn off your Car ACC or when you remove the key from your car. But if you enable such settings when you put your key again the Android will completely boot which could take 5 -10 seconds of time, but it saves your battery.

Hmm idk but I had my civic sleep mode 7 days and for 4 years never drained the battery that was a 09 civic now I have a 07 Highlander with android 13 it only shows the 3 options like in video I left it on one day but cigarettes lighter is not active when I take off keys so I’m not sure if it’s draining battery ?

If its draining your battery, then thats usually down to the canbus decoder module on your headunit not allowing the BSI (body systems interface) from going to sleep, thus keeping all circuits live (at least on peugeots and citroens I've had). Raise canbus modules are notorious for this from personal experience.

Why 2 wires for +Ve connection -- A7 Red wire through ignition key & A9 yellow wire directly connected to battery - why ?? what happens if we cut the A9 B+ yellow direct battery wire ? Pl check and confirm.

Do you happen to know how much battery it drains? Because deep sleep surely isn't an issue, if you using your car on a daily base. I'm using it about once or twice a week, so that's why I switched it off.

If you had selected to sleep after 2 hours than try checking after 3 hours.

Ensure you click save on top right after selecting the option. Otherwise while it shows that you have selected the option, but its not effective till you click save. Then system restarts. After this it will definitely turn off as per option you selected

Sleep mode when acc is off is the best way , it boots up in 5-7 seconds. No, it does NOT drain your battery! If it does, your wiring is wrong. I've had 3 android radio in 5 years and NONE of them drained my battery .You have to know what you are doing. You connect the red wire from radio to constant 12 volt (red wire). You connect the the yellow wire from radio to ACC wire (yellow) That's all there is to it - and it's the only way you do it! Some weird people suggest wiring the red wire 12v to cigarette lighter output - that's stupid and wrong. Many cars don't shut off power on cigarette lighter, when acc is off. It's on constant. So when you do that the Android will have power on all the time - and guess what will happen? Battery drain. But there are settings made to change - strange right? it's just llike turning up and down volume - it's also a setting.......... So if you go on vacation for a week or 14 days you will turn off the sleep function, as you don't use the radio. When you come back, you set the seep function to on again . That's simple and logic.

You need to be more specific. If it's Android sleep functon is on Extra Settings. Every Android headunit has sleep function. If it's another system contact your brands support.
