What a coup for RTL to hire Mr Tagesschau. It's very refreshing to see him not in front of a blue screen with the map of the world. I hope this new venture for Jan goes well, He is the MVP of European newscasters hands down.

Not to nitpick, but there is only one true Mr. Tagesschau, and that is the late Karl-Heinz Köpcke. Not even the late Werner Veigel, who was also one of the legendary speakers and chief speaker until he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, came close to the type of notoriety of Köpcke. Jan Hofer was the chief news speaker of the Tagesschau until Jens Riewa took over with his departure to RTL.

Is that news looks like Taggesthemen or Heute Journal but in RTL version? The studio heavily inspired by VRT. Surprising me, Jan Hofer who are called Mister Taggeschau moved to RTL.

The studio is great . The music is really good . The intro looks TOO BANAL , honestly RTL can do *FAR BETTER* even when it's a flat design . The font resembles to the one used on VRT Journaal and the colors are beautiful . Update : PUNKT 6 , 7 , 8 and RTL AKTUELL SPEZIAL changed their graphics and yes just like I thought (Same as RTL DIREKT graphics)

The age of Jan Hofer is actually not really known for sure. Wikipedia says 71, but different sources like news magazines say 69 or even 66. He himself also is inconsistent with the statements about his birth year.

This seems to be the second time a Tagesschau speaker made the move to private television, at least in the 2000s. Marc Bator made the switch from speaking the Tagesschau to being chief anchorman of the Sat 1 Nachrichten, now Jan Hofer, the chief speaker of the Tagesschau. The other anchor of RTL Direkt is Pinar Atalay has more moderation experience, like sitting in for the main anchors of the Tagesthemen, and some other shows e.g. on Phoenix.

Contrary to other people's opinion, I think the intro, music, graphics and studio is absolutely beautiful. Compared to RTL aktuell which uses a green screen studio (which I absolutely hate 🤢), the studio is sleek, elegant and modern. I must admit however, the studio and fonts are way too similar to VRT Journaal, but it's better than having a reskined version of RTL aktuell. Overall, it's nice and I do hope other RTL news programs in Germany gets the same theme/design. Bonus: The new logos for RTL Deutschland and its parent company are really ugly, it's set to be rolled out some time this year but I really hope they think twice and not use the new logo. The new logo is pink, purple and blue instead of the iconic red, yellow and blue and has a new font 🙄 Also, I thought Jan Hofer was the news reader for ARD Taggeschau? I'm not German or from Germany so I'm quite surprised... (Also again, what is with the girl with Jan Hofer? Is she a robot because why is she not responsive and keeps looking to the side 🤔)

She's a guest, that's why she's always looking at Jan Hofer instead of the camera. Her name is Annalena Baerbock, she's a politician running to replace Angela Merkel in the fall.

The new RTL logo is not supposed to be just red, yellow and blue. The new logo you speak of is only 1 variation of the same logo. It came in various colors. This is all to promote diversity and to present RTL Group as one RTL. As for the font, I could care less. The design is good because it’s clear and concise. Some hate that, but I like it.
