I finally pressed the buy it now button last night on a SDR Play and an airspy youloop (on the back of both your reviews). Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I’d have not bothered without you and some of other KZbin radio channels explaining how to use them. Shows the quality of your content when a manufacturer wants to sponsor a give away, you should feel proud 👍

You continue to amaze me with your outstanding channel. Your manner of disseminating information in a clear way is refreshing to say the least. Great job, don't let up, continue the great reviews. I am now starting to renew my interest in many of the subjects you have covered recently. Of course the Military Air Band is my favorite and has been for over 50 years.

Looks like a good, frugal device. BTW, I tried listening to some frequencies used at my local airport (TEB/KTEB). I was able to sort of tune one of the ATIS signals, but not very clearly. Some time soon when the weather is good, I want to scope out parks near the airport to see if I can try listening from nearby.

Love your video's. I'm an aviation enthusiast and use FlightRadar24 very often with my portable scanner as I live less then 6km away from a civil airport who is currently expanding and turning into a passenger airport for bigger planes. After finding out about all possibilities I just started 2 days ago using a cheap TV dongle I got from my neighbour after watching the possibilities I saw in your video's. I tested the dongle and it seems to work for SDR as I was able to tune into the ATIS and I tried a few other know frequenties (I've had a Ham radio many years ago so I was able to listen in on them. Never thought so many users are still out there, my mind was blown and I think on getting into that again too). I plan on creating an antenna this week out of scratch as the one in the package is garbage but as an electrician I think I will manage to get better reception, especially if I calculate the correct lengths of the rods of the di-pole or another design. I'd love to participate in the give-away but unfortunately I live just across the North Sea, looking for the UK perspective, so that's a bummer. I mean the kit would allow me to get more out of this hobby and I know it's not very expensive, but on a disability income it takes me 2-3 months before I can purchase a real RTL-SDR.com kit. Anyways thanks for showing the possibilities and I'd love to see more in-depth video's about this as I'm very excited about it.

Thank you for the support. I got two radios working on a P25 simulcast net. I had my best luck with signal by placing the antenna in an office closet. I can see the need for more and more dongles.
@FrugalRadio3 жыл бұрын
I agree. You can never have enough! At least with the SDRs we can utilize multiple VFOs simultaneously 😃
@jeffchapman6053 жыл бұрын
@@FrugalRadio That sounds like a good topic for a video. I would like to set it up so I can monitor two P25 (east and west) networks with the same radios.

I believe SDRTrunk can split multiple P25 talkgroups to different destinations when using the broadcast feature. Things certainly get trickier when decoding digital.
