nice kayak. I like it. The design of Prowler 15 ocean kayak

Hi. Bought one of these. In your review you talk about cutting a hole into the flat spot in front of the seat. I'd like to do this to house a tackle box. Any suggestions as to which box to sink in there, to carry lures and terminal gear please. I'm not a bait fisherman. Just hard lures and soft plastics. And does it have any structural consequences of cutting a hole there?

I almost bought 2 tempo's but went with Midways instead. We'll be touring & snorkelling from ours but I may take my spinning rod out for the chance of a nice bass. I'd still like a tempo as well though purely for fishing.

Good choice I’ve a had a tempo angler found it to long for fishing only because they put the seat far back instead of more centralised Me being only 62kg a disco is more suited to myself but the midways what I want, does it only come in white?

@@joeshepherd8526 the previous model is white. I've seen the original Midway's in many colours and I wish they still made them but ours are the latest and are Anthracite Storm. You can see them on my channel.

@@joeshepherd8526 I have a white midway, bought it a few years ago. Im sure there was a black or black/grey version available at that time.

Looks like a nice kayak and I will be in the market for one soon. My honest opinion is I was sold until I saw that water could pool in the seating area which could potentially be annoying. Wouldnt want to spend a few hours sat in 2 inches of water.

If you are wearing dry clothing you don’t notice it. It’s only an issue if you’re in board shorts or cheap porous neoprene that will let water through. With this style of kayak you have to expect to get a little wet regardless due to the low seating position and low sides of the kayak. A price to pay for speed and rough water handling!

I think there is only one RTM dealer here in the US maybe not even one. What would you say is the closest thing to the Tempo, the fast design fishing kayak like these, would you say that Wilderness System is the next best or option in the US?

You can´t install a rudder on it, unlike on the Rotomod Rytmo. I had one and I sold it and bought a second hand Scupper Pro.

Very true. I never felt the need for a rudder on it though. The low stern doesn’t tend to catch much wind and it can be edged nicely for better cross wind paddling. It would be great if they were rudder-ready though as it’s always nice to have use of one. That’s one of the main advantages with the Rytmo and I’ll be covering this in my next video 😀 I also have a Scupper Pro now after a long search for a decent condition second hand one but would quite happily be back in a Tempo too. Most of my days are now spent on Hobie Kayaks for fishing but the Scupper comes out occasionally for paddling trips.

That's basically an Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro TW, excellent for everything else but outdated for fishing. Respectfully, that's my opinion.

Yep it’s a paddlers fishing kayak rather than an anglers fishing kayak if that makes sense. Great for those who want to go off exploring with a spot of fishing too. For those who want to go all out fishing and load up their craft with a stack of accessories and gear then there are a whole host of other options. But some just want light, simple and ease of paddling and for that the Tempo really is great!
