I am a musician, and I am a vocalist/synth player. My band knew how to sound good while being "fun". You have to accept that you will never sound as good live as you do on record, so you let a little bit of your sound slip for energy/and stage presence. If you want to know the true possibilities of what is capable (especially as a vocalist) on stage, then look up some LetLive. live videos, they are all fantastic. Jason Butler never puts on a bad show.

sounds great. but the lack of stage presence in EVERY member. is the reason the crowd sucks. Its mostly their fault. live music isnt about sounding perfect. its about a performance, a show, an experience. Quote "No-one standing still" what does he do during the breakdown? stands still and looks at the audience.
