I feel like what's happening with Jesse's vocals is a combination of not warming up his voice for years on end, and not being able to hear himself due to a possibly poor in-ear mix or lack there of; generally. If you listen to the songs in the beginning and middle of the set, he's hitting those notes at the expensive of his tone and style, yet when you hear studio updates, he sounds like the recordings. After years of doing this without proper vocal warmups, it's possible he could be fucking his voice nightly. probably explains his vocal tone changing on the albums as well. I'm only saying this because I know from experience, if I don't warm up my voice I sound a lot like Jesse live, but when I put in the time and effort, I sound fine. This doesn't exuse him from anything, I just had a theory on the drastic change in tone live/studio. it's no secret this dude can sing his ass off, because you still have to kinda know how to sing to be able to hit these notes at all, or have that great of natural vocal tone on the records. I just think he needs to spend more time with his voice. make the time, Jesse. lol.

I mean ya sure, he doesn't sound 1:1 compared to the album but its clear he belts it out on the album and is likely trying to not kill his voice here while ALSO playing the guitar. Idk, most clean vocalist's in modern metal bands don't really sound a whole lot better than this from what I've heard.

If you're asking genuinely, everything is mostly/always tracked separately. You do vocals, you do guitars, etc.

I don't understand why Jesse writes parts that he clearly can't perform out of the studio. He's a great vocalist, but he obviously sings out of his comfort range. I'd hate to say it but his vocals are shit live and I think that's what holds them back from getting headlining gigs.

I'd imagine when you're in the studio you have a better environment to warm up, practice parts for recording than you do on tour. When I saw him at Summer Slaughter he NAILED the vocals to Skyline almost like he did on the studio recording and it fuckin blew me away. He's got a lot to offer with his skills and I think he's definitely getting better.

Lakeview Cemetery I don't think the vocals are super weak per se, but garrison was a harsh vocal god, so everyone would sound bad in comparison haha. I did like Ian more than Jt tho

I think Alan leaving impacted them way more. Bands are much more than just a vocalist. Garrison was my favorite too but TJ is a good fit and they still sound like Erra....I just wish they still had Alan
