I've admittedly not seen many versions of this dance but the ones I've seen the men look smoother and are more enjoyable to watch. It doesn't seem to be a dance made for showing off women in the most enjoyable light.
@ethelryan2573 жыл бұрын
@@mortimerbrewster3671 To do this well - and she does, very well, the woman has to have the muscles and training timing and skill - professional dancer status, in other words - which leaves her looking more 'masculine' than 'feminine'. I think that's what is happening here. Chanzie is a very good dancer and dancing with someone as pretty and smooth and strong a dancer as Stephen is only possible for another man or a woman with the muscles and skill to pull it off. She can. Pair her with a man who isn't solid muscle or another woman and you'd see a lot more of the 'feminine'. They're well matched for the dancing they do.

Back in 1964 my sister was 14 when she caught Bobby's performance on The Judy Garland show. My sis at the time was considered one of the best dancers in school and studied his movements, which she taught her classmates, though a few of her friends saw the telecast as well. There was a dance in 1963 for the song, but Bobby took it to the next level, which is the dance most emulate even now.

Actually, I'd say you're abslutery WRONG to infer this is an...homage. It's the exact opposite; a TERRIBLE rip-off of Bobby Bana's choreography from The Judy Garland Show. 'Tribute', 'homage', WHATEVER. All very nice, and good - BUT... I'd be willing to bet - A LARGE amount these 2 had someone tell them to 'psst, take a peek at...', and they did - and then - thinking NO ONE would know they literally (poorly) copied it, they threw in some utterly ridiculous moves (0:57). People today are so BLIND to THIEVERY, COPYING they seriously think copying/pasting straight from sites such as Wikipedia is totally 'acceptable' - even on such important things as finals, etc, and in university-level education, no less. NO, 'homage', is one thing - THIS IS THIEVERY. One HUGE tip-off I'm 100% CORRECT? There's absolutely NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, NO CREDIT - NOTHING - ANYWHERE - either in the video, OR, in the notes (above) saying; 'gratefully acknowledge....' That anyone would (either) give the people who STEAL someone ELSE'S work 'credit', or - even worse, make 'excuse', as to why they 'forgot' to acnknoledge them, is so dismissive of plagarism, is really pathetic.
