Excellent video Sir. I've been trying to save up enough for this gear , hopefully I'll acquire it in time.

I bought some of there lightweight silicon carbide plates that have rubbery texture finish over it for my ana tactical m2 plate carrier, and there ceramic ones for my 6b45 plate carrier. And used surplus titanium armor plates for the side armor inserts duct taped them to the trauma pads so they don't move around.

LAPG has some great deals, especially on plate carriers and level 4 plates.

Only steel plates last a really long time steel plates have a 20 year shelf life, the ceramic and the plastic plates have a 5 year shelf life that's not that long.

@nickahrens6139 Yes..I'm well aware and have exhaustively covered that very topic before.

@@RTTGunsGear Sorry new to the channel. Don't get mad at me. You're the one who said they last a long time they only last for 5 years. That's not a long time, but if you look at the value, it breaks down to about 30 to $40 a year, Depending on what you spend of course. which is well worth it.

I have the level 3 single curve and I have tested them with M855 out of my 11.5" AR-15 and it stopped them! I wouldn't recommend this plate for anything other than level 3 threats, but it definitely took more than I expected! I'm sure a M855 out of a 16" barrel would have went through, but didn't have one to test at the time I went to the range.

Thanks for the video. I'm a smaller guy, so I'm thinking the shooter cut might work well for me. One question though, do you know the width of the foam edges? I was just worried how much I'm giving up with the foam plus the shooters cut.

I think it’s about 1/2” all the way around, but I’m not home to check. It’s not much though. I’ll check for sure later.

@RTT : Guns & Gear okay Thanks a lot. Just trying to get as much info as I can since it's my 1st set of plate. I'm right in the spot where 8x10 may be too small and 10x12 may be hard to shoulder a stock. Think the shooter cut might be my goldilocks zone.
@RTTGunsGear2 жыл бұрын
@@PixelSeekingPhotography 10x12 is the standard. 8x10 isn’t even offered by many companies because it’s so small. Something like 90%+ people will use a 10x12.
