Rick’s police training definitely showed here He recognized very quickly that Tony was looking to Dave for signals on what to do indicating that they have a system in place and have done this little game before When Tony walks over to take a piss That was clearly getting himself into a strategical position Then Dave also got up and positioned himself directly on the other side of Rick putting him directly between the 2 At that moment Rick went into prepared mode and was ready to draw at a split seconds notice Tony and Dave had sized up the 3 of them and assessed Rick as the only real threat they knew if they took him out the other 2 would not put up a fight But again Rick saw that and stayed ready even after Dave tried to lure him into a false sense of security by putting his gun on the bar When he lunged for it Rick fired a shot before Dave was even able to raise the gun Then just as impressively was able to be calm and cool enough to keep in the back of his head exactly where the other guy was to turn completely around and shoot him multiple times before he could even react to his friend being taken out. Absolute moment of badassery from Rick Now Hershel has a reason to let Rick stay He made it clear that he can read people and situations with deadly accuracy and that he will help keep Hershel’s family safe from the threat that is just as dangerous if not more so than walkers.

Don't forget Rick would glance at the mirror behind the bar to see what the guy behind him was doing. "I would let them in" then you would have been killed because it's obvious that they were going to kill the group to take over the farm (farms have become even more valuable in the apocalypse). Even if you couldn't tell that they've done this before, you CAN tell that they were being shady and likely had been observing the group based on how he said "ya have a farm".

@@clevelandbci9562 Nope, My friend is a Cop, and took Criminal Justice courses, their they taught him that everyone is considered a criminal until you find evidence that their not. This is completely the opposite of the code they say cops are supposed to follow. Watch Audit the Audit, It shows you that majority of cops think your guilty even if their wrong on what they saw, and the only ones they don't feel are guilty are other cops. Also in this episode if Rick assumed that these guys were innocent until proven guilty they would have gotten the upper hand. Honestly accurate representation of cops.

In one interview, Kirkman said it was somewhat justifiable because he was slow, but he didn't say they both would've died if he hadn't shot Otis. And what Shane did was ruthless and disgusting, even if Otis wasn't fast enough, he could've just kept running, instead of giving him the inevitable fate of getting eaten alive.

Believe me this WAS in contention with Game of Thrones but later on the show gets...well worse. Generally the fan base that followed it from the beginning fell off and lost interest because... you'll see it draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags on. The ratings and viewer count fell way off. But these first seasons are sooooooooo fucking gooood! Loving these reactions!

Only the first season was in contention. This one drags the farm plotline way too much and could had half the episodes it has. S3 is just a mess, S4 is probably the best season outside of 1, 5 has that really stupid hospital plot that leads nowhere, 6 wraps up villains way too quickly and 7/8 just drags on way too long to take out Negan.

@@AgentJ00 Season 2 feels like is drags when you watch it week by week. It doesn't feel like it drags at all when you watch multiple episodes in one sitting. It was meant to be binged. I honestly enjoy Season 2 most for its development of the characters. There was real character development in this season that were the forefront of the show. This didn't happen as much after Season 5.

When my sister introduced me to the show it was already in the middle of the third season, so I binged watched season 1 and 2 quickly and it never felt like it dragged for me in season 2. Even the slow episodes kept me engaged for whatever reason. I guess it was the Shane and Rick dynamic, plus all the little secrets still floating around before the big reveal in episode 7. Daryl was an even more interesting character by this point and actually seemed like a human being and not a rapid dog lol.
