Man, this episode was so ahead of its time. Aaron McGruder absolutely called it on Obama. His campaign was full of hope, but ultimately it turned out just the same as any other president. He bailed out the banks, helped disband Occupy Wallstreet, expanded ice, state surveillance, and drone strikes, and basically stifled any real change. However, there's no denying the election of the first black president is still a huge milestone and worth celebrating, so I guess you gotta take the victories where you can. At least That Thugnificient song is a jam. Also, Werner Herzon absolutely kills it this episode.

Largely, Huey seemed like he was just indifferent about a Black president. He knew it wouldn't bring any actual change, but everyone else got on him for not celebrating it. Riley's general reason for rooting for Obama was just because he was Black. That would probably be just about every Black person who was voting for him. Me myself, I was excited to just have a Black president back when this was happening (I was in my Sophomore year in high school back in '08). Grandad feels like he actually did something to make all that happen when he did little to nothing. Whether he's being senile or just wants to feel like he's owed something (just like many other Black people who believe they're owed something for their suffering). P.S. I'm Black so don't get on me for speaking the truth.

So I decided to look up if the show was actually implying that Sarah f*cked Obama, and cheated on Tom, and the wiki literally confirms that she did. But no other site makes reference to it, stating that her biggest point of unfaithfulness to Tom was acting like a huge fan of Usher in an upcoming episode. So, I don’t know who to believe. All I’ll say is that she did NOT come across as someone who would cheat on Tom in earlier seasons. She seemed like a caring, genuine house wife. I have no idea why her personality changed like that. Really, go back and watch the episode she was first introduced. The camera work is clearly trying to imply that Tom, despite his shortcomings, nabbed a grade A wife. So this just completely confuses me, because that episode was seeming to imply that everyone else was in the wrong for harassing Tom for marrying a white woman, but how they presented her at the end was meant to imply that she was a good woman, and it didn’t matter what anyone else thought. Now this episode is basically implying that he was wrong to marry the white woman. It sacrifices a touching moment from an earlier season, simply for a joke, and I’m not a fan of that. And once again, why does everyone in this show have to treat Tom so poorly? What did he do? It’s funny when life sh*ts on Ruckus, since he’s an awful person, but Tom has only ever been a loving husband and father. All he had was his job, wife, and daughter, and now the show is heavily implying that his wife is unfaithful to him. That’s such bullsh*t. Like, I’d be fine with it if it was always implied that she was cheating on Tom, but this literally just came out of nowhere, like the writers decided they wanted a new way to ruin Tom’s life.

Maybe they wanted tom to a wimp. Not so tuff character.
@Laxhoop4 жыл бұрын
John 2.0 Yeah, him being a wimp doesn’t make all the awful stuff that happens to him, funny. People naturally root for characters like that. Yeah, I get it, Tom is meant to be the other side of the coin of Ruckus, where he’s the opposite extreme of an Uncle Tom, but the show does NOT push that idea at all. The show had dozens of chances to make Tom come off as an Uncle Tom, and it didn’t take them, instead portraying him as just an average dude caught up in the antics of the assholes surrounding him.
