What great selections Whitney! I can see the Take the Chance dress out of a plaid flannel as well. I think my favorite look is the gray sweater and silk skirt. That would be a quick make and elegant with the right fabrics.

I love that you have chosen a few Style Arc patterns. I'm putting the Belle dress pattern together while watching this video. The Take the chance shirtdress is I agree very comfortable. I have a second one in the making. I had to put it aside for a bit to concentrate on getting some Christmas things sorted - with the final week of the school year this week, we have the School concert for my youngest daughter and she needs to dress in "Christmas clothes" So I am doing a Myrtle dress by Peony patterns in a print that I got last year from Nerida Hansen fabrics (she's Australian) - it has Australian birds holding Christmas decorations in their beaks and I thought it would be perfect considering they are singing "Santa Koala" as their song. My Belle dress I'm intending to use the orchid colour Viscose Linen noil from Maaidesign - there are a few dresses in this design floating around the shops here and they look so beautiful. I have to also sneak a birthday dress in for the youngest as her birthday party is at the end of the week also (she's actually on the 30th). I love these videos. We all know you will be just way to busy to sew all of these but I can't wait to see what you are making again. Hope your mum is recuperating beautifully.

I’m finishing a Chanel jacket, I’m making pattern alterations to my blouse muslin ( Vogue v8772) and I’m about to start pattern mashing the Sienna maker jacket with the back of Vogue V8146. The skirt is Mccalls 7169 and I’ll add a back zip. So plenty of sewing going on here!

As I’m watching this, the EverydayStyle Master Class about dressing body shapes is running thru my head. I went ahead and joined the Style Circle yesterday because it was a good price, and I’m currently going through that course. I didn’t think I needed this course, but I’m actually learning a lot. I’d consider myself an HourTangle with Apple tendencies. My bust and hips have always been about the same size, and while I have squarish shoulders they’re even with my hips and I have between 5 and 7 inches waist to hip depending on my weight. So I’m busy comparing the RTW looks with what I think I could wear, and what I’d do to camouflage my middle. 😅

Aside from your Juki industrial machine what do you use for zigzag and buttonholes?

Up until the beginning of the year, I have a small Bernina 330 that I use for my zig zag and buttonholes. However, at the beginning of the year, I was given a loaner Bernina 770 that I'm using for all my sewing tutorials and sew alongs this year and I've been using it for the zig zag and buttonholes as well!
