if you have a full wattage 3070 you should expect close to 30fps with dlss balanced on 1080p on meduim not really ideal, and it can be lower in some locations like the swamps or the redwoods if only it was 60 frames with dlss on quality it wouldve been perfect@@noahm6782

lmaoooo foolish of me to think Wildcard would try to optimize this game. Just like when Ark launched in early access back in 2015 when youd need a GTX 1080 Ti to run it. Only problem is it didnt exist yet. Just upgraded to an RX 6800 and this game will already give it fits at 1080p. Awesome.

People are disabling volumetric fog and clouds using console commands and it runs a lot better, con you do the testing with that disable?

Important to note that you can do a lot of console commands and balancing of the settings to make the game run smoother and look better. I have it looking pretty decent and 40-60 fps with a gtx 1070. Not saying that to encourage anyone to try before they prove they can optimize it, but there is stuff you can try out if you have allready fallen into the trap. Another important note is that the resolution changes often don't seem to change before changing fullscreen mode back and forth. I restarted my game and suddenly my 60 fps was only 20 untill I turned fullscreen off and on again...

Any command in particular that had the most impact? I turned off clouds and fog (I really think fog makes the game look alot better) on my geforce gtx 1650, but I only average like 20fps

@@Ju-Peter667 There is long lists of commands on the internet you can use but I recommend: r.Nanite.MaxPixelPerEdge 4 (higher number better performance) grass.sizeScale 0.4 r.VolumetricFog 0 r.VolumetricCloud 0 r.Lumen.Reflections.Allow 0 Also resolution scale isn't reducing the quality as much as in evolved so you can take that far down without much quality loss. You might also want to try to play in 720p. Hope that helps :)

@@TheJacobi I don't remember on the top of my head what or where the setting is, but there is a setting related to "console" that makes a new option visible bottom left of the pause menu where you can write your start up commands. Hope it helps, just learned about it myself and have not tried it yet

People downvoted the game blaming with poor optimization but I don't agree. I mean this game deserves high end graphic cards. Game looks really good. Doesn't cheat on graphics or viewing distance or calculating objects like most of the games do. It's just beyond it's time. I doesn't deserve to be downvoted cuz of this. Eventually they will start to cheat on graphics with updates. And it will be like ubisoft games. And no I'm not rich, I don't have a very powerful gpu. I just have 3060 ti with 1440p. So maybe I can play on low settings with around 40 fps. But in a year or two. When rtx 5xxx or 6xxx released, it would be much easier for us to get higher power with less money.

I love how they make ark look so much nicer. But everyone with a normal gaming pc still basically gets to play the old game due to having to play in low to medium settings to get a decent fps 😂 still enjoy the game. But hopefully they’ll do some more to balance it out. Gonna buy a new pc soon but not looking to spend 4K to get those epic quality frames 😂

There's some settings you can tweak to get much better frame rates, so you just might be able to pull it off. Biggest help is turning off volumetric clouds and fog

Your rig is not obsolete. It's just the developers don't know (or don't want) to optimize their games. I ones did a simple level design in unreal engine with a dozen of trees and one building and it wasn't giving me even 30 fps. It's very easy to overload even the best video card if you don't care about optimization.

Stick to ARK SE, it can run on potatoes. ARK SA is a nightmare right now. 15 fps w a rtx3060 this is bad n even bader for me at the moment with a gtx1650(still saving up for a rtx3060 pc)So will be intresting to see if gtx1650 even can run it at all in any 1080p setting(i now how a few other 2023 games was on gtx1650 lowest settings n 30fps w fsr balanced=that made those games almost unplayable so yep just sad to see that even rtx3060 runs bad at 15fps in game(i had hoped atleast 30fps stable at high settings in this game but nope not now n mayby never in the future.. I have the same setup and play on almost maxed everything with like way better fps than this. Also the in game FPS that you are looking at is NOT accurate you need to use the Nvidia overlay it is actually accurate .

I’m currently playing at 1440p medium settings on a Ryzen 5700x paired with a 7800xt and get between 35-50fps.

RTX ON. El trazado de rayos consume DEMASIADO. A la 2080 le costaba correr batlefield que no tiene ni un tercio del trazado de rayos de Ark... sean serios. Aunque tambien hay errores, claro. Porque en algunas PC una 4080 lo corre mal, pero es un error... ya que a algunos con una 2080 le corre en medio y algunas cosas en alta a 2k de resolucion a unos fps MUY DECENTES.

That's a straight up lie. Low/medium looks absolutely garbage, painful to the eyes. ASE on Ultra looks way better than ASA on Medium.

​@@kokorochin01lets be more truthful , foliage , details and lightning do look better on asa low settings than ase max . But game looks too blurry and messy , no improvements in animations etc. Ase was already terrible optimized this game takes terrible optimization on another level !!!

@@kokorochin01 True dinos do look the same and texture resolution is bad. There are some pros to asa to. But however we look this game shouldn't run this bad at low compared to ase on epic. Ngl i thought asa will run like 2 times worse than ase on same settings not 20 times.....
