You can take Medi and Sheilds while walking now and also this Medallions you can pick up from Bots will mark you on the map, thats what the bug yellow circles on the map means, enemys who have collected these

First game after major update i think the shaders are recompling, maybe thats what the big stutters are. My first game i spawned on the battle bus and everybody had jumped off before i loaded in...but everything was much smoother after that.

In terms of the GPU, the game is really optimised this season! I remember when CH4 came out with the UE5 features, I could barely get 40 fps with my 3060 ti on high with DLSS

Yeah, Fortnite doesn't really have a pre compile shaders option, so every time you change GPUs or update drivers, it turns into a stuttery mess. But once you explore the entire map it stabilizes.

10-15% slower than this 4060 on average. 4k fortnite is too much for it, 3k or 1440p is ok.

please talk more about the differences in the input delay. bc i know for a fact that dlss has much less input delay relative to other rendering modes like TSR or TAA at the same refresh rate. but thats on my 3060ti with an older version of dlss. I'd imagine that there's not much delay regardless of rendering mode for the 40 series (i could be wrong tho which is why i wish you covered that in this vid) watched the whole vid tho, so besides that, this is a good benchmarking vid!

my 1650 and i5 3470(ik its a bottleneck) is performing pretty well, im getting 120 fps avg. with 1080p performance mode. didnt encounter any majour stutters. keep in mind its just 8gb of ram with 4gb vram

Idk if you’ll see this but when testing the native res, the best option for the best test with visuals would be tsr epic with native res bc taa is just blurry

Why do you not test with epic settings? My guess would be because the difference between high and epic is not that much different looking. If you do only use high in your tests I would recommend turning on epic effects since that's the only way on PC to get the new skybox. Newer Consoles like the Xbox series X and PS5 also have the new skybox but the only way to get it on PC is having your effects on epic.

Reading these comments make me think that the new season update broke the optimization for pc. I have the same specs and get 30-40 less frames and stutters. I’m able to max out cyberpunk2077 and get 60 fps but I have to play Fortnite on low to medium to even compare.

my best guess is that it is still loading resources in the initial games. He mentioned later that everything was loaded and the stutter stopped. Let me know how your 4060 works out! I'm thinking to get the same soon
