Some games really play just above 60 FPS, with a $600 GPU (4070S). In 2024, where the new refresh rate standard of monitors is 144hz. Says a lot about how shitty some developing studios are. Pay zero importance to optimization. Only care about deploying the game to production.

Yep been saying the same for ages. Now there's even 500hz monitors but the games are still stuck at 60fps - 60hz. Thats why I rather play at optimized settings where you don't really lose much visual 'value' and play at 90/100 FPS.

This is not true. Yes, some games play just above 60fps WHEN playing at ultra settings and maxed Ray Tracing / Path Tracing. Optimization is very important, but it's not something magical that is going to make some of these games graphically intensive games at high frame rates with every graphical setting cranked up. Alan Wake 2 is a very well optimized, that doesn't mean it won't destroy mid and low tier GPUs with something as heavy as Path Tracing enabled.

I’m sorry but 500-600 more dollars for a 20 frame difference is beyond crazy lol. Even for 4k gaming. We’re talking about less than 5 percent of games it would matter for especially with optimized settings. Most 4k games you barely gonna get over 100 frames anyways unless you have a 4090 so it’s kinda pointless. Better off saving the diff and upgrading 50 series next year. 4070 super def seems best choice of the options.

Hab die "normale 4080 jetzt 1 Jahr. Im Vergleich zur 7900 lebt sie vom Raytracing ! Wird das aktiviert - ist sie brutal besser ! Ist so ! Ich wurde beim Zocken auch nicht zu UHD raten. Man sieht zu WQHD meiner Meinung nach keinen krassen Unterschied Auch nicht bei Cyberpunk. Dafür könnt ihr auf WQHD dann ALLES auf Ultra stellen - was wirklich geil ist ! Hab auch das DLSS - also die KI-Bildverbesserung der 4080 in Cyberpunk auf Ultra Qualität gesetzt Perfekt für diese Karte ist meiner Meinung nach ein fetter WQHD-Monitor mit 144 HZ. Dann alle Einstellungen auf Ultra - und es läuft mit stabil mit 92 Frames ! Ladet dazu dann noch GPU Tweak 3 zum tunen der Karte runter. Meine Einstellung: Power Target: 110% CPU Spannung + 27% GPU Takt: 2740 Speichertakt: 22845 Lüfter: Auto evtl. ist noch ein Klick mehr drin - kommt immer auf die Karte an. Aber damit holt ihr Cyberpunk - alles auf Ultra - mit der 4080 von 92 auf bis zu 101 Frames. Mein geliebtes altes Far Cry 5 push ich mit diesen Einstellungen ( und Ultra ) von 89 auf 128 Frames. It's impossible, it would need a 320 bits bus which does not exist in any 4000 gpus. AD102 has 384 bits, which gives 24GB, AD 103 has 256 bits, which gives 16GB. simple as that. Second, nvidia drivers give an nVram consumption that is around 15% lower than AMD, so the VRAM need for nVidia gpu is lower than on AMD

Take it from someone with a 4070 super and a 4080 super. The 4080 super is worth it for anybody gaminf at 1440p ultra or 4k. I mean its 20 to 50fps gains deprnding on the game. Like at the end 40fps in horizon. Im a sim racer games like acc gave me massive massive 40fps boosts. So yeah man its worth it. When im sitting here getting 130fps in 4k on acc im like yeah thats def nicer then the 88fps I was getting. Still good but man what a monster gpu.

Well I was waiting from the 3000 series as I was broke😑. If there are any leaks we get in 2 months then I might change my decision. 🙂 Btw, I was deciding to buy a 4070S but due to the vram I was trying to avoid it and deciding to go for TiS, just for vram. I need for my workstation programs so no amd at all:( I wanted of amd one only tbh.

@@arduinocoder247 “Rumor” has it that 50 series will come out the end of 2024. But “personally” I think 40 series is a huge improvement from 30 series. So the 50 might come with a small performance upgrade only. But that is just “personal” thought (IDK). But you still can wait for the 50 series if you have a 30 series card already.
