RTX 50 Blackwell Fixes EVERYTHING - Giant GPU Update
Nvidia GPUs for most buyers have not improved price to performance much in the last couple of generations, but the RTX 50 series could change that. Not only should we see a substantial performance uplift, but also prices could be better on more affordable GPUs making it the best generation for most buyers in a long time.

I'm not not holding my breath on the pricing. They using a new node and memory and I'm not sure they learned much from the 40 series. Here's my optimistic prediction the pricing for 50 series: $1600-1800 for the 5090 $900-1000 for the 5080 $700-800 for the 5070ti $600 for the 5070 $300-350 for the 5060 This honestly best case scenario, imo. The problem is that Nvidia seems to ready and waiting for AMD and Intel to finally come up with new gen. They will put out the high-range gpus because there is no competition. Than just adjust 5070 and 60 depending on the competition. And finally fill the gap by putting out Ti versions. Basically unless RDNA4 is a huge jump and Battlemage cheap, stable and reliable Nvidia can just keep their prices high. There is also perchance bunch of random RT and AI stuff on both sides that will impact the whole shenanigan.

Now, is the 4060 as powerful as a 3070 ? Lol. So, if we want to get the lost generational improvement back from the 4000 series, the 5060 needs to be about 80% more powerful

@@VoldoronGaming i often task chatgpt with explaining reality to the unknowing, lets try: A notable example of a company that experienced a redemption arc after already being among the most valuable in the world is Microsoft. Initial Success and Market Dominance Microsoft, founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, achieved enormous success in the 1980s and 1990s with its Windows operating system and Office suite, becoming one of the most valuable companies in the world. By the early 2000s, Microsoft was a dominant force in the tech industry. Decline in Perception However, during the mid-2000s to early 2010s, Microsoft's reputation started to decline. The company faced several challenges: Antitrust Issues: Microsoft was embroiled in antitrust lawsuits, which damaged its public image. Product Missteps: Products like Windows Vista and the Zune music player were poorly received. The company struggled in the mobile market, with Windows Phone failing to gain traction against iOS and Android. Perceived Lack of Innovation: Microsoft was seen as being less innovative compared to competitors like Apple and Google. The Redemption Arc The redemption arc began with the appointment of Satya Nadella as CEO in 2014. Nadella brought a new vision to Microsoft, focusing on cloud computing, open-source software, and cross-platform solutions. Key Steps in Microsoft's Redemption: Cloud Computing and Azure: Microsoft shifted its focus to cloud computing, making Azure a core part of its strategy. Azure grew rapidly and became a strong competitor to Amazon Web Services (AWS), significantly contributing to Microsoft's revenue and market value. Embracing Open Source: Under Nadella, Microsoft embraced open-source software. The acquisition of GitHub in 2018 and making its flagship .NET framework open-source were significant moves that improved the company's image among developers. Cross-Platform Solutions: Microsoft began to focus on cross-platform services, such as making Office available on iOS and Android, and developing the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Successful Product Launches: The company saw success with products like the Surface line of devices and Windows 10, which was much better received than its predecessor, Windows 8. Corporate Culture and Innovation: Nadella also worked on transforming Microsoft’s corporate culture to be more collaborative and innovative, promoting a "growth mindset" within the organization. Outcome These strategic shifts led to a significant improvement in Microsoft's reputation and financial performance. The company regained its position as one of the most valuable companies in the world, reaching a market capitalization of over $1 trillion in 2019 and continuing to grow. Microsoft’s journey under Nadella’s leadership represents a classic redemption arc, demonstrating how a major company can successfully reinvent itself and regain consumer and market confidence after a period of decline.

The graphics card lineup needs fixed. From the bottom up this is what I think it needs. It needs an RTX 5050 that out performs the RTX 4060, has 8GB of vRAM at least, and costs $200 or less. Then the RTX 5060 has to outperform the RTX 3080/RTX 4070 for $300 or less and have 12GB of vRAM minimum. The RTX 5060 Ti needs 16GB of vRAM, at least RTX 4070 Ti performance, and it should cost $399 or less. The RTX 5070 needs better than RTX 4080 performance, 16GB of vRAM, and a price of $600 or less. The RTX 5070 Ti needs RTX 4090 performance, at least 16GB of vRAM, and a $800 price or less. The RTX 5080 should have at least 30% more than RTX 4090 performance, 24GB of vRAM, and a price of $1000 or less. The RTX 5090 should have at least 50% more performance than the RTX 4090, and 32GB of vRAM, with the same price as the RTX 4090. Anything less than this is unsatisfactory.

Nvidia is likely launching first with the 5080 so that they can do a global launch which includes China. This likely caps the 5080's performance to around the 4090D and it will probably only have 16GB of VRAM. I think it's likely to cost $1000 and the lower tier products will stay about the same in price. But a $1000 5080 is going to leave a lot of price difference between it and the 5090 at the very beginning. If I were Nvidia, I would raise the price of the 5090 to make room in the pricing/specs for a 5080Ti.

As good as the 4090 is, I could not see myself getting it since the 3090 is still serving me very well. To me, I don’t have to upgrade to the latest and greatest every time. If the 5090 is good I might upgrade to that ONLY if I build a new pc then pass the 3090 to my son. I always buy my gpus with the intent of using it until I can’t use it anymore and a 3090 for a current 10 year old even now is more than enough.

I have absolutely no idea what to trust in the way of pricing and specifications, what I do know is Nvidia has no competition that can compete at the high end, and maybe they will give us poor people something worth while in the mid to lower end this time around, but price wise I'd lay 50$ on 5070 and up being out of reach for us poor people again. Not a whole lot has made sense since they screwed up the level of performance by making everything 1 tier lower. absolutely nothing at least to me. Also lets face it history has shown they just don't care as long as their AI side is making them the money, I could be wrong, i actually hope I am, but don't really hold out much hope, we heard the same thing about the 40 series and everything from the 4080 on down just did not make sense price wise, and like usual AMD followed suit, instead of just being honest and saying hey we won't beat Nvidia on performance but we can compete on price, and gain more on sells than in the past. Again I'm not a expert, I don't have connections to the industry, but I kinda feel like fool me one shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, and in all honesty I hope Intel whips both their butts cause the other 2 need their world shook up. Give me a honest product and I'll pay a fair price try to sell me lies, and I walk away, period I don't need to buy a new card this time I but editing on my laptop is getting old, but I can do it.

To fix the GPU market, you should unite all anti-NV camps and push a public compute motherboard architecture of a GPU motherboard that consists of several different parts: video output, GPU LGA socket, VRM daughter board, LGA memory module (such as CAMM2), SIP vga bios/uefi driver, and pcie gen4/5 x16 interface......since we probably have two motherboard inside our pc case, but the price of GPU/memory combination will much more reasonable.

How? How could the RTX 50-series fix anything, when they draw so much power, and on a power connector that's been known to melt and burn????
@genejones7902
@genejones7902 3 ай бұрын
I used to worry as well. So after a year of use I pulled the power connector off my Asus TUF OC 4090 and after pulling 500w so far and being completely plugged in, had absolutely ZERO visual evidence or smell of the connector melting. Yet we know this to be a problem with too many cards to ignore... it has to be either people not plugging in the power connector correctly, as proven, or overclocking and pulling too many amps / volts or cable quality. The vast majority of people were using cable adapters... That said, it'll be very interesting indeed to see what kind of connector Nvidia uses with the 50 series.

@@genejones7902 500w is still way too much. I'll stick with my 4070-series cards in my builds. At stock settings, my 4070 Ti Super plays Halo Infinite at 240 fps (max), and Halo CE at 950 fps. LOL!! I got them capped to my monitor's 144 Hz frequency, though, and drawing a lot less than 500w.

@@genejones7902 Please forgive my evident frustration, but I'm sick of hearing this miss-information (or dis-information whatever the buzz word is.) But you've drawn that conclusion to the issue just based on your own *SINGULAR* experience, as if your life experience is somehow representative of the rest of us, and that's extremely arrogant. No it has not been proven, the way you described. What has been proven is that any poor connection or thin wire can cause such an issue. End users aren't a new phenomena and this has NEVER been an issue before - What is new is the connector, nothing else changed. Any plug where the pin connection is too poor or wire too thin will cause excessive heat - this is why we have different gauge wires, it's also the method behind how we made incandescent light bulbs for over 100 years - not new info. And no, overclocking isn't causing this. We've watched famous overclockers such as KingPin draw significantly more power than that on older cards and never cause such an issue. If it were overclocking drawing too much power the soldering on the board would start to fail and the coloured insulation around the wiring would melt as opposed to the GPU connector alone. This is the fault of the connector - period!
