I have finally rolled credits on bg3 after 550hrs of playtime. I finally decided to play solo with that file being about 150hrs total!! I loved every bit of this game and watching your tips helped immensely in understanding the game on a deeper level! The final encounters were trivialized with the epic strats! It felt so awesome tho as I put together some of my own builds and strats after realizing some of the strengths of certain spells and tactics from watching you. Just that epic feeling when a plan finely comes together. Despite what people say I deeply enjoyed act 3 and loved that they made some encounter variations that weren't purely about murdering stuff. And despite being max level I enjoyed just doing stuff in this game so much I did as much as I could well past the level cap. I enjoy helping people and seeing the content! I can't wait to see how you tackle some of these fights with these insane restrictions and thank you for all the insight into this wonderful game! Onward to honor mode!

Trial 3 is again where Eversight ring could've helped. That aside though, with the rendering trick of seeing the path, you can usually misty step half way to one of the longer bits, and another misty step straight onto the end platform instead of having to risk walking in the path area.

I really like the trail ring because even though it is only once every long rest it can turn any shot into a hit, even misses. So if you have trouble with low accuracy, you can use it on important spells like chain lightning to ensure it hits.
@Melth

Do you mean a different spell? Chain Lightning doesn't have an attack roll

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. I'll certainly talk about my next level up when I earn my next level up. That'll be in episode 72 I believe, at the same time I battle all of Moonrise Towers.

Waiting to see how you handle the Myrkul fight. I was dreading it a little bit because I struggled a little on a previous Tactician run, but planning just a little bit helped me finish the fight without taking any damage. Wet debuff and some lightning from a bard and a cleric made short work of him. Water bottles are just too damn strong lol.
@Melth
@Melth Ай бұрын
Umberlee > Myrkul confirmed! I remember on my first run for some reason I couldn't get the wet status to apply to him. Still, I had a strong party and was able to smack him down in 1-2 rounds

One suggestion, press F10 can hide all UI during cutscenes including the mouse. Could be nice to use during long cutscene where you don't need to choose dialogues all the time.

I don't pay much attention to mods, I'm afraid. I just use the one that applied honour mode to this pre-honour mode run and the one that hides silvanus blessing notifications from the combat log

always thought there must be a way to pass the 3rd trial the canon way: turn off all the lights, watching for hidden changes around you in the room that give directions, a book or a dialogue that give you hints.. but nobody found any. The fog spell is new to me, idk if one could keep launching it every other step to reveal the path, i miss most commentary because i'm not english speaker.
@Melth
@Melth Ай бұрын
I think the 'canon' way is to look at the map on the floor, near the beginning. You can see the maze of paths there and can then follow those paths. But that's both dangerous and kind of boring. Fog Cloud doesn't reveal the path. What Fog Cloud does is remove patches of 'Darkness' on the platforms. In BG3, Darkness is a type of effect called a 'cloud'. BG3's rules only allow one 'cloud' to exist in any particular place. Fog Cloud is also a 'cloud', thus Fog Cloud and Darkness cannot both exist in the same place. If there is Darkness and then you cast Fog Cloud on top of the Darkness, the result is that the Darkness is removed. Thus, I used Fog Cloud to eliminate the Darkness on the platform. That allowed me to see. And being able to see then allowed me to cast Misty Step at the destination.

Melth, how would you rank all the major rpg franchises like Elder Scrolls, Forgotten Realms/ Baldurs Gate series, Witcher, Pathfinder and Dragon Age etc. A lot of casual rpg gamers says Skyrim was the best open world sandbox rpg, until Baldurs Gate 3 came out.
@Melth
@Melth Ай бұрын
Unfortunately I've only played Elder Scrolls and Forgotten Realms stuff so I can't comment on the others. Skyrim and BG3 are VERY different kinds of games and they also came out decades apart, so it's not easy to compare them in a meaningful way. It'd be kind of like comparing Pac Man and Mario 64. I think I would say that Skyrim's setting is vastly superior and more philosophically interesting, compared to the black and white morality and generic high magic fantasy of the forgotten realms. On the other hand, characters in Skyrim are extremely shallow compared to Baldur's Gate ones. Baldur's Gate certainly has a more detailed and superior main plot, though I would ding it for a couple of plot 'twists' that actually don't make sense if you think about them. Both have great side content, and I might give the edge in quality there to BG3 but obviously there's a greater quantity of side stuff to do in Skyrim and that's worth something too. As a roleplay experience I'd say there's no question that you can get more in-character in Skyrim because you're ultimately free to do (mostly) as you want and go where you want in that game, whereas in BG3 you don't really get any opportunities to develop your character besides being evil/not evil or being a generic member of your class. And of course in BG3 you're basically on rails with some side paths. BG3 suffers from being much too easy. It ends up being pretty boring unless I stack up tons of challenges. I haven't actually completed an honour mode run yet on the side because I keep getting bored of endless easy combats and deciding to restart with bigger challenges. Skyrim is more challenging unless you go out of your way to break it, but it's definitely breakable. Both games have a major flaw of being horrendously buggy. All in all I love both games, but they're very DIFFERENT games so I can't say one is inherently better than the other. BG3 benefits from 13 years of technological advancements that let it look better and sound better and so forth, so it's not really fair to give it an edge that way.
