You are to fixated on entrenchments (trench works) , hardened firing positions (pill boxes), and topographic conditions (the high ground). For a long time I worked for a well-known Swedish company. I have been in Sweden many times for trainings and seminars. I love this country very much. @ Yes, I think there are historical reasons that swedes are very scared of the russians, one reason I speculate is that we lost Finland to Russia, that was a national trauma, Finland had belong to Sweden at least 600 years at that time and was an integregal part of the Swedish nation. I later have heard that this war was not instigated by Russia but due to their alliance with England or France ( forgott) anyway thats another story. But its true I hear it now and then how people curse Russia and Putin.

Some People act like if Russia is not taking 0.5% of Ukraine’s pre 2014 land area a month that the frontlines are stagnant. Note: Ukraine’s total area pre 2014 was 603,550 square kilometers meaning that 0.5% of that is 3017.75 square kilometers. Meaning that in order for some people to think that the frontlines aren’t stagnant that Russia has to capture about 100.59 square kilometers a *Day*

I disagree with the analysis. Taking on that Kostyantynivka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk line still seems to be more than a year away. The advance is very slow in that direction and the defensive positions in that line seem to be even far stronger than the ones being faced now. And before any of that happens there is a cosmic change coming in less than a month with Trump's inauguration.

I don't think so. The main part of sped-up operations is the area around Kurakhovo and the reason is clearly the two riverlines Russia wants to take advantage of for a stronger physical encirclement. No other part of the front is going that fast. As long as Russia keeps winning, Trump is in no position to set any term of this conflict. Putin's stated goals are clear and haven't changed at all since the beginning, so Trump is a mere sideshow.
