Well, I mean if your intentions with English were infiltrating into Irish countryside as a spy, then quite likely yes, it was a total blunder. PS dunno why but it reminded me of an old Soviet joke: An American spy learns perfect Russian, his legend is as detailed as possible, he learns everything about Russian culture and so they drop him out in the Russian countryside to complete the task, and as he passes by a local old lady she says: - Sweetheart, aren't you an American spy? - h..how did you know that? - Well, you're the first black guy I've ever seen in my life

His voice isn't very deep. Besides, most men's voice don't really deepen after the age of 18. Can't say I know any whose voice changed terribly much after age 16 or so. People's patterns of speech and such my change, but not the tenor of their voice until they grow elderly and their vocal chords weaken. This kid just talks like an 80 year old country person, so he sounds much older than he looks. Of course, back in the day, all kids would have talked like him. Now just the old folks.

@@LesserMoffHootkins Londonderry is what the unionists (the people who want Ireland to remain part of the UK) call it while Derry is what nationalists (the ones who want Northern Ireland to join Ireland) call it. So referring to it as either kind of inadvertently sounds like you're taking a side. The only way to provide a neutral take on the matter is to avoid talking about the place completely. I guess the best international comparison would be Israel and Palestine, although that's still a bit different since there are two separate states going by each name there while Derry and Londonderry refer to the same area populated by both sides of the fence.
