That is a beautiful sounding fiddle Mary Ann, what make and where did you purchase it if you don't mind my asking ? I have been fiddling for 10 years on a fiddle purchased from the Eaton's catalogue back in 1963. I do know the glorious sound is not just the fiddle but the fiddler ! That's Dark Star, a Stainer copy of a Maggini, which my former husband purchased for me back in the 80s at Rockin' Robin Guitars in Houston for $400! It's 200 years old and has double purfling. I swear, the more I play it outdoors in all kinds of weather, the better it sounds!
